In this case I don't think it's best of the best, it's that I'll want a stereo mic, a shotgun mic, a lavalier mic, and various other contraptions. I just ordered the Sennheiser MKE 400, and am thinking about getting the Rode Stereo VideoMic for stereo recording. The Advans get great reviews. I probably should have just gone your route...

Check this out! I could use that and be able to use all my studio mics I have at my house! A little expensive (and bulky) , but that would probably be a better use of my money.

Yeah, I've had a DR-100, but the signal path is WAY too noisy. Plus, the Beechtek actually mounts to the camera base.

Got bored and started talking to cale (cpbeasley) about an intake setup we can do. Right now we did this little number. We removed the stock filters and removed all the fins inside the box so the OEM ram air is still utilized but we just have a single filter getting air from 360 degrees now. Been doing a trial test this past week and in the mid to higher rpms the car feels more responsive and the rpms climb quicker. I plan on doing a single 4" tapered down to a 3" intake setup to see how it compares. I know "supposedly" the OEM setup is best, but cale's engineering friend did a flow test and he says the main restriction on the OEM setup is the ram scoops. I plan to remove the scoops and install a larger single filter and build a heat shield and wrap the piping in thermal wrap. I'll post pics of the build once I start it. I know we'll take knocks for doing this but its cool, its all about progression and R&D to see what kind of performance we can achieve.

Like I've told Cale, props for the taking the initiative and it's a clean install, but I still don't think it's gonna be an improvement over the stock intake. Am I the only one that thinks this? Someone else had done this setup before, but I with a green filter. I can't seem to find it now...

Seriously though, good job on the install. Looks good

believe cales going to remove the part of the hood covering the vents and maybe doing something with the c63 vents but not sure. His is going to be be something like the old school cowl hood filter. I'm going to move my R&D towards more of the new intake systems with a larger volume tube with a bigger filter like on the pictures above. we'll see how it goes.

Phi, I need to do this Mod ASAP. Today I went up against an E500. I had a solid car on him. The guy said let's go again because he wasn't ready. The light hit green and we both went at it. I had half a car on him until gears started shifting. At every high RPM he would creep up and creep up until he had a car and a half on me and I high beamed him to kill it.

I now for sure know that our cars choke up top. I mean on the dyno Jeremy told me that my car was choking up top and today I'm 100% positive it's true. You think this mod will help me or would I have to go with what Cale did?

Here's what my new intake plan is hehe... I'm going to build an intake like this and cut the top part of the engine cover where the OEM filters were. Then I'm going to build a sealed box for each filter that lays up against the hood and I'm buying some R35 GTR cf vents and modifying my hood so the filters are right behind the vents getting direct air plus im going to do a tapered piping from 4 to 3 in.

Heres the vents... I'm gong to move mine closer toward the front right in front of the filters.

Yeah the mod helps on the high end alot. Car picks up real nice on the highway now But I plan on getting the 82mm tb like Cale to help it suck more air in too Been searching around for a good deal on one.
