nope... i used vht engine enamel primer first then laid 3 layers of basecoat then 3 layers of high temp clear to finish it off. I'm looking into buying the eastwood powdercoat kit after I buy an oven that can heat up fast enough to 400. I'll see how this holds up for awhile then I might try the powdercoat since I know that'll work for sure

 

Just finished mine too. I used POR15 paint (brushed) and VHT clear aerosol. Its only been a week, but looks great. That color is sick, looks like Petronas F1 AMG color.

 

yeah its actually off saturns color line lol.. they only used it for one year on their cars if I remember right. Was hard looking for it but I found it on a couple of other cars searching around. i really want to paint my car in that color if I dont do a whiter white than what my car is.

 

think I'm gonna do the Porsche Carrara/Cayman White SO BRIGHT WHITE

 

or the glacier white from Porsche also bright... reading through the forums the glacier white is whiter than the newer white they use on the Carrara and caymans

 

Look up Mercedes Glacier white. Forgot the code. The white was discontinued in US in 2001.

 

yeah i remember mb having a glacier white. I'll ask my friends dad to lend me his paint code book for porsche and mb to see what they are.

 

I know p-cars and Audi's use similar color codes but Audi's bright white is beautiful!!!

I think so, I usually see a4's and saw a a7 is that bright white and love it...I wanted to paint my bimmer that color

 

think i'm gonna ask my paint guy to do a semi gloss clear on it to give it a satin look to it.

 

ok got the fronts installed but I had to order the c32 rear caliper mounting bolts since the oem ones on my car was too short. Also finally ordered my rear H&R sway bar since eibach doesnt make it anymore just waiting for it to come in.



have to polish my wheels but its been raining lately. Gonna take the wheels part so I can change the color of face

No rain leak, slight wind noise but I have the deflector

 

Wanted to ask you about the stickers you put on the calipers. There was a vendor that used to be on here that sold them but I think he is out of business. Where could I purchase those stickers. I want one that says, "Mercedes Benz." I see plenty of stickers w/ "AMG." Since I don't own an AMG I don't want that.
