Beasley's 2006 C350 6MT Thread, come one, come all!

You would need to find someone who has SDS (Mercedes diagnostics tool).

Heel toe IMO is not really necessary on street. On street you only get 1 turn and rev matching is just fine for that. But if your doing a road course or doing a canyon run where you have multiple turns and need to brake then a heel toe is necessary.
Learn rev match then learn heel to toe....some people learn heel to toe then rev match (your choice). Heel to toe what your really doing is braking and also reving the engine and then hitting the right gear.
I've tried heel to toe once (couple of times but in 1 car only) and i was more successful at that. I know you're shopping for a new car and I know you'll have a lot of fun learning these new tricks...nothing too hard about it...practice makes perfect.
Manual really keeps the driver connected (I agree with the comment that was made) with the vehicle though but again with the new auto trannies this is all done for the driver. I know for sure in DCT it can rev match. Also I have seen manual drivers shift more smoother than auto
(but that's 1 in 1,000)

Here is a video of me when I was in Japan drifting. You can hear the engine..that's me doing a heel to toe.

They have that feature on the 370z.

On this subject, has anybody adjusted the height of the pedals so they match up better for heel-toe? My '05 C230K has the brake pedal a little high so it makes my ankle work harder to get the revs up.

& yes LILBENZ - I still don't like Benz manuals - but we'll leave that for another day. Let cpb enjoy his new toy. It is a damn nice car! At least it has the new improved shifter.

And yes, I know you disapprove of the 6 spd... your comments have stuck with me throughout my whole ordeal... but I just couldn't turn down $13,5 shipping from Salt Lake included, to get myself into the 3.5
& thus far, I'm not disappointed with the manual at all. It's nothing like thrashing the gears of my old short-throw equipped T56 mind you... but it's a LOT of fun

Im having a blast hitting 60mph at the top of 2nd gear, chirping 2nd, and gracefully oversteering my way out of corners

As the engine modifcations slowly make their way into my life, I'll be mindful
of the synchros as well as I can... slowing down the shifting as much as I can
Im shooting for my first mod to be the set of shcrick cams next summer. stay tuned!

Here is the shifter change data - made a BIG difference!
-having euro impact strips painted pewter this week
-also going to attempt to remove the chrome "cap" from the grille and look into having the chrome slats cut off, leaving just the chrome frame, and having the holes filled in on the slats (the attachment points), and painting the middle black
I often wonder about the manual, I will think that I am glad I don't have one during the daily hour (each way), especially in traffic. On the other hand, when I drive the wife's SLK for more than a day, I start missing having a manual in my car. I really think you've got the perfect 203, even down to color and options.
Since I have it pulled up for another thread, if you wanted to see the phone install guide for it (since you have the pre-wire) it is HERE (well, they have through the '05's but it should be similar). There are other, and probably better options, but sometimes it is just nice to do it the way it would have come.
So I had a guy very interested in my c230. His wife totaled his LS430? 420? Anyway. I wasn't about to show the car with the res deletes and the flowmaster 50 series... I had been putting off doing something about it until I had a serious inquiry. So, before I showed him the car, I arranged for the flow to be swapped over to the 350 and stock muff vice versa back over to the 230. I left the reso's off the 230 and retained them on the 350. First of all, to anyone with the 2.5L, keep your stock muffler and delete all 3 resos, now! Has a very nice, subtle tone to it...
As for the 350 with delta flow 50... I wasnt looking forward to it, wanted to wait until I could do duals... perhaps with a diff muffler.
Boy was I wrong to be weary. I'll try to scrounge up a video ASAP. It purrs. Cruising speeds are just a few DBs louder than stock, but otherwise under acceleration... between the resonators and the delta flow chambers... no resonance, no rasp. It emits this beautiful tone. this harmonic low roar. ill try to use my camera's video cam to see where it gets me, otherwise i may have to buy myself that new flip cam. it's pure sex. I called ND2020 tonight and raved over it for like 20 minutes.
anyway. still waiting on my euro impact strips. its my dad's body guy who does his muscle cars. its free, but slow...
sorry i dont have pics or film, but i guess its a teaser post.
btw. my stomach still feels like i did 10,000 crunches, but im on the mend. another few days and ill be back to getting out of bed in other ways aside from rolling to the floor!

Congratulations on the recuperation!
