Kompressor cold weather start issue

I have a 2003 c230 kompressor sport sedan and in cold weather my car does not run properly until the cars temperature gets in between 60 to 90 degrees on the dashbord display. If I try to drive before the engine warms, it revves high and will not change gears. It only does this in cold temperatures....any thoughts

Sounds like a transmission issue, not an engine issue. Check fluid level first.

Does it hit the rev limiter constantly or does it actually change when it red lines?

During the vehicle warm up cycle the transmission is supposed to hold gears for longer to warm up the Cats & reduce emissions. Yours might have gone a little out of whack but some of this behaviour is normal. Have things changed.

Mine does the same thing. I've always thought it was normal.

+1

My car does the same thing.. When the car is cold it holds first gear a lot longer then it should.

He said it does not change gears. That's different than it just holding gears.

You have great faith in people expressing themselves accurately.

This thread sucks!!! The guy asked a question and we're trying to figure out what exactly is happening and he just disappears

Waste of database space

I mean doesn't change gears at all or at that moment????
