Clearing code P0128 thermostat
2005 c230 kompressor. CEL and Check coolant level light are on. Temp is normal. May have been a stuck thermostat that set the code P0128. I want to clear it and see if it returns. Any help would be appreciated before I start throwing money at this.

Thank you very much. I figured a scanner was necessary as oppose to the old days of jumping a plug. That windshield washer sensor thing is a possibility. I'll check it and the level.

I have the same problem and bought an Innova 3100 at WalMart (only thing open late on Sunday night) and am getting an error when trying to erase the code.
Is there a specific scanner I need to turn off the CEL?

No need to "throw money". Thermostats are common failure items. The P0128 is coolant temp below normal, you just need a new thermostat. These are fail safe, they stick in the open position and the car can't reach its normal operating temp. How's the temp gauge looking?

If you have thrown a P0128 then the car is battling to get up to operating temp. Replace the thermostat.
