The prices I was given there was a pretty large difference between.. the Kumho ASX isn't superior, but it does just as well as the DWS. This will be about the 14th set of ASX tires I've ever bought. I've always had such great experiences that they've been on pretty much every vehicle I've owned in the past 10 years at one point. The bang for the buck equation (tires for me last about a year) and climate here make them a great purchase. I was looking at $600 for DWS tires, $400 for ASX. There was nothing about the DWS that made them $200 better.

I hear ya...there is about a $125.00 difference on tire rack. I prob won't need new tires until sept. but will give the Michelin Pilot or the DWS a try.

The DWS gets my recommendation.. but the ASX is a screaming bargain. I had them on the C from 39k to 69k and they were awesome tires. The only reason I went with DWS at 69k was because at that moment in time there was a scant $40 difference for a set of 4 and I decided to give them a try. They were also great, but not noticeably better than the ASXs. If the difference was still $40, I'm not sure.. I might still have gone back to ASXs. But at $200, not a chance.

You just drive too much Matt. I am just creeping up on 88K. Heading down to CA 2nd week in July, so that will add a few.

In the next year, we will purchase a Touareg as my daily driver and the wife will start driving the Benz, so the miles will really slow down.

The other night I got the "Turn signal, right mirror" error - again. This happened once before when the car was under warranty at about 36k miles. They replaced the LED blinker part and it has been fine since. It's only happened once so far, but I'm sure it is on its way out again. I'll have to order a pair of these since the left one has been cracked by a rock on the highway and moisture gets inside.

Nice toybox Matt!

A Touareg Mr Anderson. Greatly underated but an expensive commuter vehicle!

Yup, nice collection indeed. 135 is still the best out of all of them.

Phil, I'll be in Roseville, just outside Sacramento. I really need to try and get down to SoCal one of these days to meet up with all you guys.

Glyn, I am getting one with the diesel, so I am hoping it will make a good commuter. Yes, underrated and VERY expensive. Driven my neighbors 2011 TDI Exec Touareg a few times now, and absolutely hate giving it back. 400+ft/lbs of torque through a 8sp transmission is intoxicating Plus, the damn thing much better mileage than my C230

Ah! yes - the diesel is the answer & all that torque. Enthsiastic use of that torque chews up expensive tyres.

150k

well, about to hit 150k. Six 1/2 years later, with 2 teenagers beating it up, the C320 still is a solid daily driver. The A/C crapped out last year and I don't feel like spending $1200 + to replace it. Does anyone know if those discount A/C compressors on Ebay are any good? It will need new brakes in about 10k miles, for only the second time during its ownership. Say what you want, but we were able to get 80k + miles on first set of front and back brakes. I also need tires. How do the Conti Pro Contacts compare against the AWS?

Bottom line: This car was more fun to drive than the old Honda Accord, but not w/out its electronic/mechanical headaches. Much safer for teen drivers as well.

Same here my 01 c320 is at almost 161K runs great. But my AC is slowly going out. The ebay ones are made in china so i decided i will go oem for $200 more worth it to me. http://www.rmeuropean.com/ has it for like $350 so that is what i plan to do.

The 335D is a Sweet car. I hope that Mercedes gets a c class diesel over here soon or a G Wagon with one.

Forgot to say it also gets 23 city / 36 highway. Which sucks *** big time. Nothing special, rather have the 335i..atleast it can rev unlike the 335d.

36 highway sucks? 36 highway would suck in a Jetta TDI with 140hp. 36 highway is great for a car that asks for such little compromise.

I second that, it revs like theres nothing connected to it. Plus it can easily do 400bhp with just a reflash

Yes, you are correct. I forgot the power to MPG part. I was comparing it to regular cars. You get what over 30 right?

No it doesn't. Watch this video, what's the redline at 5k? How is that high revving?

You are absolutely right about the power Trini. Heard those things chipped (story came from Europe) take the E92 M3.
