I like. I really like that blue, but those wheels not so much. The wheels on the others are better. Alas, I won't have one for quite a while, I don't think. On the upside, I figure mine is good for another 100K or more.

I see that MB is still cheaping out on the 'sport' brake calipers (last pic)- single piston sliders; a far cry from the AMG style 4pots that they used in 2004 and the 2 piston in 2005-2007. If you are making wheels that expose the brakes you better have some decent looking better functioning clamps. Sliders will never be as good and a fixed caliper with multiple pistons.
Even the rears are sliders ARGGGHHH!

The wagon is certainly pretty. The new interior is a big improvement & clearly now takes it ahead of the W203. There is a choice of 10 wheel styles for the world so something for everyone. That 17 (? - too lazy to count) spoke wheel was used in press launch shots for the original 204 but never really used in volume production. Imagine keeping the brake dust off that thing - no thanks!
I think I now have a clear picture of my next car - I don't like the direction the W205 is going. A facelifted W204 with Bix, Leather & Parktronic will suit me fine - Elegance of course.

Have you seen the brakes on a new M3? Look like single piston sliders to me.. I think it's fine, though I do prefer the artsy look of the 135i's 6-piston fronts.

Sliders can be efficient, however they look cheap, are heavy, always rusty and require more maintenance especially for us in winter countries where they use salt on the roads. The sliders where the pads sit on gets gummed up, the cast iron bracket below the pad sliders gets corroded and eventually pinches the pads not allowing them to slide and needs to filed down after 4-5 years. And despite the mounting pins/bolts being lubricated and "protected" by a rubber boot I have yet to see a car that these don't get rusted and seized.
While sliders are ok in a warm climate, they are a source of problem in a winter climate where they use salt.
That metal plate that says Mercedes that dresses up the 'sport' brakes on the current W204 is not fooling me. Probably the brainchild of some bean counter at corporate headquarters

Yes sliders on the M3 and 335 while the cheaper 135 with the sport pkg gets 6pots...go figure! I have read many places and on TV that journalists have complained about the brakes on the M3/335 especially on track conditions. The C63 gets real brakes.

The facelift is great - and the interior is a major improvement...
I just wish that they would give back their TRIANGLE tail lamp...that was a tradition...
Thanks for teh shots...lets see more interior DETAILS...

MBUSA conducts long-term ‘suburban’ durability testing around my neighborhood.
Although we’ve had good-natured discussions on occasion, the drivers are understandably tightlipped about their duties and product development.
Even debadged and wearing camouflage, I can spot AMG brake calipers from afar.
The US marketing gurus probably believe a C wagon would cannibalize their other (more profitable) offerings.
Saw this early W204 in Redondo Beach a while ago:
