C7 vs. AMG Wheels?

It just has those lines, like Pininfarina, that sort of swoop this way and that, and trail off into the nothingness...
especially the coupe. If you have a freshly polished and waxed coupe, you see details in the sheetmetal of the doors, that
are hard to show up in pics, line that go around and disappear.
Classic Pininfarina type lines.
The newer ones ie newer benzs like the W204 and new E class, are more Bertone-esq with lots of hard edges and angles.
I would like to do more reading on the origins and development of the W203 if such info existed, and would love to know who they consulted on the design. The germans left to their own would probably use very boring designs as they did in the past, but in the 2000's they wanted to get a younger hipper buyer, vs. the old folks who had bought them in the past.
Hey, it worked.

I would be curious to see a picture of your brakes behind the C7's. I bet they show them off almost as well. The AMG's just seem dated to me.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Bought the AMG's with PS2's on them,
then came across a set of C7's that I bought from a
guy who I sold my rear AMG swaybar to.
If I recall correctly he let them go for $50!
One turned out to be cracked, and I sold one on ebay for $85,
and so now I again have a complete set of C7's.
Ha, I scrapped the 2 bent ones and got $40 for the aluminum.
That was an experience being at a scrap yard waiting in line with
the people who do this all the time....
2 of the one's I bought had PZero nero tires on them that are good and
i've put several thousand miles on them, off and on..
So, I'm leaning towards the C7's now.
BTW-I'm looking at Firestone Indy 500 Wide Ovals,
good reviews on tirerack.
I almost was gonna order from TR but checked the FS site, and
found they have a special deal where you order online, and
take the confirmation to the FS shop.
The prices are comparable with TR, but you get them mounted etc.
for free. And for this month, they have a 15% discount on the Indy's. So,
it ends up being less expensive overall despite the tax etc.
And you get free tire rotations etc.

Ridiculous. Oh but you still get the 15% discount.
Lucky for me, I printed my quote and have an appt. for Sat. to install,
500 out the door, including tax disposal fees etc.
$20 in disposal fees. Geez. What a rip.
I think I'll tell I'll keep the old tires and use the $20 to buy a bottle of tequila,
and toss them myself.
And yes, I guess I'll go with the C7's.

I still have good tires on the AMG front, though they are Federal 595-SS's which turned out to
be howlers. I thought my differential or wheel bearings were bad.
They grip good, and are wearing really well + only about 75 each, but wow the noise they make.
Like your car is going to blow up.
I'm looking forward to the FS indy's which most people said were the quietest tires they'd ever had.

New Firestone Wide Oval Indy 500 225/45/17's on my ol' C7's all the way around.
My 2002 now looks like a box stock 2005 coupe except for the
Renntech style spoiler and lowering. And for the discerning eye, the AMG brakes.
Spacers would be nice, maybe down the road.
Hard to tell about the tires.
So damn cold, they feel like rocks, summer tires and all.
And also need to put a few miles to wear off the layer
that always needs to be worn off.

The question is which set of rims look better? Please vote!
The AMG's here? Or the old school Stock C7's?
I need to get new tires, and am tired of replacing rear tires more often than oil changes.
So, I can either
a. use the C7 set I have. A no brainer, just go buy tires!
OR
b. Use the AMG's but trade the rears with another member for 7.5" vs 8.5" width so I can rotate the tires. So use your imagination, rear won't have a nice shiny lip anymore, and won't fill out the wheel wells, though I could easily use spacers to get the same look. I like these better, but it will be a hassle
exchanging the rear, and shipping etc.
The GF, says they look old man, and the C7's look nice and shiney, and to her, different. Granted, they are very different than other MB wheels, but with them on my car, it looks completely stock, albeit, stock for 2005 instead of 2002. Is that bad? Funny to have put so much into the car, only to look completely stock from another year.
I've got the C7's on the car now.

My question is what kind/brand is it & where did you buy it from?
TIA!!!
