C230 Kompressor & B5 S4
Newbie
Hey guys,
I just purchased a 2005 C230 Kompressor a few hours ago. I have been looking for a daily driver for a few months and I just happened to stumble upon the C230. I am very excited to getting to know all of you guys and join the Mercedes community. I have always admired my friends C300, C240, and ML350 and have always been impressed. I am coming from an Audi background. The I have owned two B5 S4s over the last five years. I am keeping my S4 and building it as a side project car. Well, here are some pictures from the dealer. It has 56,xxx miles on it and interior and exterior are 9/10.

"annoyance" and "self-righteousness", amoung others...
Welcome!
Nice introduction, and very nice find: low mileage, black on black, 6 speed... lots of fun to be had even as a dedicated DD. Wait for it... the mod bug will bite.
Keep her maintained, albeit even that's not much of a chore, and you will be rewarded. In the meantime, have fun with her and come hang out here often. There's lots to learn.

LOL. From wanting to put a deposit down on mine to buying another one in a day. I'm guessing "just happened to stumble upon the C230" must have been from my post in the B5 S4 forum.
Found it:

Hopefully the 2 accidents aren't an issue...

C230 Kompressor & B5 S4
I finally got it registered today and put some miles on it. I am so happy I bought this car. It is super comfortable compared to my S4 (Track Motor and Trans mounts). I also really like the gear box as the throw is relatively short and very little play. As this is my daily driver I probably won't mod it but I am def going to install an HID kit. Lighting output could use an upgrade. I'll post some more pictures after I clay bar and wax it.

Excellent!
Do yourself a favor and purchase an ebay projector headlamp to house those HIDs. My wife gets away with HIDs in her halogen housings, and boy is it bright as all get out, but its scattered to all hell.

C230 Kompressor & B5 S4
Ideally, I want to find a set of OEM Bix. I have dealt with depo headlights before on my S4. The quality sucked and light output had an extreme amount of glare. I went OEM euro and never was happier.

I agree if you can score then why not. But at 1k a piece...that's like "Freeze...turn around....drop those pants....now spread them....don't move"

I bought my H7 DEPOs off of Gary@Suvneer. Much cheaper than the eBay ones and quality is just as good. Planning on retrofitting them at some point. I'd recommend DEPOs+retrofit(something like FX-R projectors) over the BiXs. Much more cost effective.
