new windshield
new windshield
so my windshield cracked, and now getting a new one. good thing is that i wont have the little pit scratches on the windshield cause its a new window, yeah. my only conern is the mercedes sticker on the passenger side of the glass i wonder if they could save that and put on the new window. i hope so. if anybody has had they windshield change let me know how it turned out. thank u in advance.
Almost guaranteed that they won't replace the sticker, but you can buy a new one at your Mercedes dealership for about $5. They make several types so get the one you like the best.

Interesting, I always assumed that if you replaced the windshield with an OEM MB windshield it would already be in place; and if you got an aftermarket replacement, of course it would be missing.
Go to the stealer ship and ask for that.. Its a sticker.. the dude at the parts gave me one for free.. While you are there check on another car for the position of the sticker. Get some paper out and mark. When putting on the sticker use a little soap with some water & use a credit card to remove any air bubbles.
I had to do it to mine =D

That's pricey... Paid $285 installed for an aftermarket windshield. It has the rain sensor and looks exactly the same as the MB original but without an emblem in the lower left corner and without any MB stickers. Lifetime warranty against leaks from a local company that's been in business for a very long time. Not sure why you guys want that MB sticker on the right to begin with... I scraped the old one off as soon as I got the car as I like the clean look without any stickers. But then again, I take off all the airbag warning stickers from the visors and doors so it must be just personal preference.
I was just quoted $518 (parts and labor for after market) and $700 for OEM (including labor, taxes, etc.) from Safelite.
Dealership wants a total of $1360 ($609 for the glass and 6 hours of labor).
