Man that 335i is gorgeous! It cracks me up when Benz people hate on BMW, or vice versa. They both produce some stunning cars. I really love the Sport, facelift W203 sedans but it is a step backwards. I'd go for the 07 model personally - search around hard, not sure you'll find one for the price you want to pay, though.
For the record - There is no way in holy hell I'd buy a W204 over a 335i like the one you have. The 335i embarrasses the C350 in every single way.

a 335i hard top convertible has an MRSP of 62k. I don't know what the people think when they buy that.

"annoyance" and "self-righteousness", amoung others...
Great decision! no car payment, reliable and fun car, and a nice introduction to da Benz world
(also good decision to dismiss the salvaged title c350)
So, welcome to the club! Anxious to see the pictures!

If you're going to go through all that trouble you might as well build the engine and boost it . I don't know about the manual tranny but the auto is good for 500whp.

2005 C230 Sport Sedan w/Automatic
Ravex911,
Is 14K your limit? The reason I ask is that I'm looking to sell my 2005 C230K Sport sedan, auto transmission. It has 21K miles (garage queen, my everyday driver is a Honda CRV). I'm the original owner. Non-smoker, no accidents, all records, no modifications, dealer maintained from day 1. I've been posting on this forum since I got the car, so you can search on my posts (not that I have a lot of posts). Price is $16,500

Wow, going from a 335i to a 230 auto... me thinks he'll wish he'd a waited for a 6MT! Dude, I'd love for you to come to the MB world but not like that! the 6MT tranny is sooooo sporty. It really makes the car. Don't get me wrong, if u don't like manuals because u commute or whatever then so be it... but if u still want to have some rich assemblance of sport in ur ride, u have to come over to MB with the 6MT. Not trying to flame, and u might have already bought the auto, so if thats the case, disregard the above and welcome to the family . But if the deal isn't done yet look hard for the 6MT. I got my 05 6MT black on black with decent options and 65k 6 months ago for 11800k and I made the seller pre-emptively have a new AC system installed ($1500)... also convinced MBUSA to extend the solenoid recall with a single email for free... look harder bro! Either way, welcome! and props to you for being smart enough to jump on here and do some research before you bought in. Ur gonna get a great car either way.

Oops, sorry man. Got to this post a little late and rushed to the reply before reading that you had decided for sure on the auto. Welcome to the family
To all you other guys out there who drive MB autos, I'm sure ur cars feel sporty enough and I take back what I said about the autos not being sporty. No need to flame me. manual tranny's, especially 6spds (if u can tell from my sig) have a special place in my heart. I have never owned a auto, so obviously its alot of personal preference. My only experience with a MB auto is a 09 C300 sport, owned by my mother in law. Nice car, nice ride, fast... but not real sporty... <---- obviously the creators of this forum feel the same, as this happy smiling driver avatar is clearly driving a 6MT

He has no car payment and that in itself is pretty satisfying when you have a child on the way, engine and transmission regardless.

perhaps too late but the G35 would have been a better choice imho...
better performance and much more reliable. not to mention better resale value.
would have been a better fit(performance wise) coming from the beemer.
oh well... sounds like you were dead set on getting into a benz.
so, welcome to mbworld!

Enjoy - nice car & you don't have to put up with Benz' ****ty manual GB & crap clutch action.
No payments - thats my style - I pay cash for my cars. What a pleasure. Have not had car payments since I was 23.
For those contemplating an upgrade to direct injection - Forget it. It will cost more than you paid for your car to achieve the mod.

bmw 335 2009
Picked up my 2006 c230 last Friday. It's been fun so far and enjoy driving it. It really is a change of HP/Power from my 335 but loving that I own it and have "0" payments. I will probably own it for a year or so then upgrade to something else. I still want to test drive a 2007/2008 c350 and a 2005 c55.
Anyone have any thoughts on the Comfort/Sport mode? What is the difference other than startin goff in 2nd gear? What performance gains are there from using the sport mode?

Use C in snow etc and S for normal driving. Starting in first gives a very minor increase in performance if you rev the car & if you keep your foot down it will change up at higher RPM. The real performance difference is minor because you have another reduced torque gear change to go through as the ECU retards timing to smooth the change.
It does nothing to the suspension. Used to be called S & W for summer & winter.
You also have 2 reverse gears.

Thanks for the info. I've been keeping it in "C" mode as it was already set in that mode when I got the car. I'll switch to "S" today.
Do you have any driving recommendations to increase performance, to adjust to my preferences rather than the previous owners? Not sure how long it takes to adjust.
I've been putting in 93 Octane as I am not sure what was used prior. All advice is appreciated. I'll pictures of my new ride shortly.
