I posted useful information. Chevron has never done what they have done. If you spent time in reading about shell you would change what you just said.

Anyways

Maybe u just picked up some bad gas. How long has this been going on?
I have already watched and read what Shell does. And frankly, I just don't care enough to travel even a few more miles to get Chevron. So don't push your beliefs on us, and actually try to contribute to a solution for OP's problem.

I didn't watch the video until now. I agree with MW_ATL...there are always two sides of the story. As he mentioned it might truly be sabotage...or it might even be a real oil spill but it happens. Even worse are those aftermarket parts you buy for your car. That CF wing someone probably got 1 dollar labor to make the the business owner get's the rest. The cloths you buy that are made in China or 3rd world countries probably people bust their backs for pocket change.

There are always crap that goes around like this. You can't avoid it.

Of note: Mercedes recommends Mobil for whatever reason. IDK prob some sort of marketing tie in.
Benz recommends Mobil because of the F1 tie up at McLaren. Now it will be Petronas for their own team

Seriously, you think that all the oil Shell pumps out of the Nigerian Delta is kept separate in the tankers, then refined to be only Shell oil? That it isn't traded, etc? Or that Shell is the only company that is plagued by vandalism and theft, then blamed for the environmental impact that is caused as a result?

I am sorry, the oil companies make a huge profit, but relatively modest *returns* on the investments they make in the industry. No reason to bash on unnecessarily.

Thread Content: No problems here with Shell, however it is not my preferred fuel vendor. I have a preference for an independent chain, with decent quality, but have no idea who they source fuel through. Pretty sure it is all from the same pipeline, though...just different additives. Not my specialty, maybe Glyn will clue us in.
All the majors make good fuel & a lot of borrow/loan takes place across the supply grid. The differences are in the additive systems injected before supply to a service station if there is one added. Techron is a very good additive for clean up - keep clean.

If you should feel a difference from one brand to another it would not be immediate & would be due to the clean up of a dirty injector or whatever. In all other regards they have to meet the same specs. Differences occur between summer & winter grade. Octane dependant on altitude & alcohols added in some states which can effect driveability on occasions & offer lower energy.

C230 Sport Coup + 2006 W164 ML350 + 99 Ford Escort (What the heck, it gets 38 mpg!)
My car loves their shiit. I get an instant increase in response time, and
my butt dyno says more power.
I think they are on the higher end of the posted octane.

Sounds like you are close to needing a new cat, or O2 sensor.

Same here. Plus, quite a bit of E85 use. Never had any fuel related issues from Shell.

lol i drive in traffic a lot and like to get back up to speed fast so it kills millage. What can i say i like how fast my car is and take advantage of it.

I have an addiction to two things driving my car (doesn't matter if i have anywhere to go) and vanilla coke. The only reason i can get away with using so much gas is because my mom and friends all live an hour away so that is where my car gets most of its miles.

What, all 200 miles you put on it last year?

PS - you gotta stop the vanilla coke! I was gonna get you some for when you came to meet me but I can't find it anywhere here.. likely due to our better tastes in drinks.
