chip in windsheild!!!
So I am driving on the turnpike this morning and go to switch lanes and this truck in front of me kicks up a rock that hits my windshield and now there's a chip in it. At least it's not all spiderwebbed or anything but what do I use to fix it?

take it to a windshield repair shop ASAP. They can more than likely stop it from cracking further. The Mercedes windshields are not cheap so catching it early is the best thing you can do.
Most likely they will end up filling it. You should also check with your insurance company. I know with mine, I pay $50 and get a new winshield. (In this case its cheaper to get a new w/s than to get it filled).

OUCH...not good. I had small rock chip on mine about 5 months ago (less than 1 square inch area, spider-web-style). I took it for repair, cost about $20 (or u provide insurance info they do for free), they did a fill-in and some of the blemish went away, didnt effect the look much so i was pretty happy.
then last week, weather in TX got real nice and hot, left car parked outside, came back....it spreaded to about 8-10in!!! ARRRGGGHHH....Now I need a new windshield. anyone know how much? alternate to dealer?

called my insurance company and the glass people are coming out to my work tomorrow to fix it for free!!!! yay!!!! thanks for all of your help. By the way, are the patches or whatever they use to fill it in pretty reliable?

Yeah, they're reliable. I had one done once. They fill it in with some kind of liquid and then bake it with a light and it hardens. It was more visible than I thought it would be, but it looked pretty good.
so the glass guy came out today and said the chip wasn't big enough to drill into and then fill so he just "resurfaced the glass" so that it won't tear my wiper blades up. hope this works. i guess we'll see.
