I think if you want to compare quality, you need to compare the specs on the rod ends on both kits. The picture isn't clear, but it looks like they could be rubber isolation type rod ends where Ghostrider's are spherical rod ends.
Spherical rod ends are more precise (they are what are used in race cars), but some say they are prone to wear from dust and grit - I hope not because that's what I have on my Lotus! Others say that the compression pre-load fit between the the ball and the race tends to wipe the grit away so it doesn't get to wear it out. Again, rod ends vary quite a bit from brand to brand and applications within the brands. Higher load rating generally translates to higher pre-load and thus tighter fit between the race and ball. Some people who are really worried about grit getting between the ball and the race wrap the joint with tape. I've also seen rubber boots.
The rubber isolation type rod end would absorb shock and vibration a bit better, though I don't notice any adverse effects from them on my Lotus. Like any rubber joint, the rubber can degrade from from use and then the question becomes, can you get more of them? I have seen joints like this from third party vendors, but the spherical rod ends are easier to find (for me, at least - though I've never looked for metric sizes).
I am not saying this is the case here, but sometimes the manufacturer will make their product prettier instead of making it better (it's cheaper to dress it up than make it better). Also, consider that it will be under the car and you'll never see it - and even if you do, it's unlikely that many other people will!
Just to look at the pictures of both kits, I don't see anything to suggest that either of them are made cheaply, they just took a slightly different approach. It all depends on the relative quality of the rod ends.

You are so very correct in your assessment and that's why I went away from the rod ends all together.
How much do you drive your Lotus?

I've have had some teething (it's a ground up rebuild with a lot of mods) and maintenance issues that have required two people and between my work and my buddy's schedule, it doesn't get worked on as much as I'd like. I WILL get it on the road for spring!!!

Now that's a good looking car!! The kit moves the top of the wheel out, but in your case it is more than capable of moving the wheel in to get the clearance you need.

To each their own, everyone has a look they are going for. Feel free to flame away, it reminds me of an old busted watch I had once - it was right at least twice a day...

I misunderstood your kit. I thought yours had spherical rod ends. In that case, it looks like both kits are very similar in function. I agree that bushings are probably more appropriate for the road. I don't need them for my car, but I think I would lean toward your (Ghostrider's) kit. The blue is pretty, but the stark, no-nonsense appearance of Ghost's kit appeals to me (and I like to save $$). In the end you have to make yourself happy.
Not as much as I would like.![Frown](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)

I started with the spherical ends, but moved to the bushings that I'm using now. The kit is pretty, but the prices actually range from $212 - $239 on ebay.

Literally we miss having it this weekend by two days, huh? That stinks, oh well, I'll at least be there the following week, thanks for the invite. I'll probably go to see my folks this Saturday now that I think about it. Using his shop to install the new projector headlamps.
Anywa, I love first watch even if they are pretty proud of their eggs and toast![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I've only been to the one in Westport, where exactly it is on SMP? Perfect location for me too, 15 mins away at best.
Do you want to plan on bringing the camber kit at that time for the exchange?

These will be needed when a vehicle is dropped correct? Ghostrider's looks more heavy duty to me than the painted ones. If this will be needed for a drop I'll definitely get one.

Thanks Karo!! Yes, these will allow you to get the rear back into factory alignment specs once your vehicle is lowered. It should also save you some time and money if you get these installed when you are doing your springs.

How about a group buy for $150 ? 10 sets?
I been needing something like this for a while but the cost of
parts, install, and alignment.....
It's been cheaper just to let the car eat tires.

To be honest, between the cost of parts and shipping, the lowest I could group buy for is $170. Which is 15% off the original price.

I had the top speed installed in my car and the rear end knocked like crazy. I thought at first that I only got a defective one and had it replaced. Same thing Knocking sound, I had to take it out and return it. To be fair I had the top speed on my W202 and it worked great.
