Why exactly you need to use bushings instead of spherical ends?
Whats wrong with using spherical ends on everyday street car?

I think its because after awhile the spherical ends wear quicker and that debris can get into the ends and cause squeaking. If spherical was better, wouldn't you think that OEM parts would used it more instead of bushings. But I'm just assuming.

I have installed my custom camber arms with heavy duty spherical rod ends, but I havent driven the car yet.
How fast do they wear out?
Whats that talk about knocking sound?

If you want to see the environment these arms live in, take a look here:

Yes I know about the enviroment... But what was the actual reason you dropped spherical rod ends and went with the rubber?
Was it noise, vibration or smthing else?

They would eventually become loose and squeak.

Just looking at the "old" setup with the spherical rod ends. It looks like the race material did not go completely around the ball. I was just curious if that was indeed the way they were?

yes thats the way alot of spherical rod end ***** are constructed, it gives it more freedom of movement i think.

Yes, that's exactly how they were. Which was fine for race cars, hot rods and customs, just not daily drivers.

Awesome!! You can also spray a little silicon on the ends for installation.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I understand the thickness of the outer race will not cover the entire ball. For example, there are high-misalignment rod ends that have intentionally thinner rod ends so what is mounted through the hole in the ball has more angular movement. What I'm talking about is the race material didn't seem to go completely around the ball's circumference, but there appeared to be two patches on opposite sides. In the picture entitled "P1 Performance Engineering Camber Kit" from the link on reply #55, there are two red patches (possibly Teflon) that appear to be the outer race of the bearing but there doesn't appear to be any race material elsewhere.

Note in the pictures of other rod ends, the race seems to go completely around the ball. This arrangement is what I am used to. I was curious because I thought if they were they way it seemed, that they might be more prone to grit and dirt getting between the ball and the race.
