anyone know why the front rotors for a slk55/clk63 are more expensive than the calipers?

lol wait those are 6 pot with 2 piece rotors? nice!!! oops lil drool there. Do they have to be two piece? and i still think its a lil crazy that the rotors cost more than the calipers, considering the rotors have to be replaced every so often, lol

I am not 100% sure with the OEM MB 2-piece rotors, but once you get them, you only have to replace the friction piece and not the hat. Should be cheaper.

Oh, and those calipers don't go with those rotors. Those calipers appear to be the CLK55 calipers and not CLK63 calipers. CLK63 calipers are:

There's two versions of the CLK/SLK 6 pot calipers, the 340mm version and the 360mm version. The 360 should've come in 2-piece rotor only, while the 340 I'm unsure if it came in single, 2-piece, or both types of rotors.
2-piece rotors are expensive to manufacture, etc. Most aftermarket 2-piece rotors can have the rotor rings (and hardware) replaced while keeping the aluminum hats (cheaper option than buying completely new). Due to being an OEM part, I'm pretty sure MB doesn't sell the rotor rings alone. Definitely an expensive brake job if you have aggressive race pad.....

Ive been wanting to get these brakes for the longest time also. The calipers are doable, but after seeing the price of the rotors i kinda lost hope.
