W203/CL203/S203 TIRE Discussion Thread - Every question on TIRES
Pireli 7,000 super sport are ten times better than the Conti. They saved my *** the other day when some idiot lady was about to come into my lane and I beeped and she still continued then I hit the curb, and behold no damage. thank you Pireli
Erik
On my last car Pirelli's did nothing...but they still will my next tire...as soon as my Contis wear out.

I already STUFFed and read a lot of threads. I still haven't got the answer that I want, I got more than what I need and had me lost!
So... I need good tires, don't make a lot of noise but provide a good grip to the road.
I always take hard corners and such things, so I do need something good, I guess. and I drive fast too. I heard continentals are limited to some speeds or something?
I was just looking at http://michelinman.com/assets/pdfs/doc_pilotsportas.pdf
that tire looks cool. but its michelin. meaning its expensive.
so what do u think is best for me?
and by the way... in that link, there are different sizes for the same wheel. how do i know which one for my car? Or is it possible to fit any of them as long its in the same "?
hope I get a reply this time and don't get ignored as usual

thanks a lot :p
It's also a good idea to visit the www.tirerack.com and read the reviews on each tire that's in your budget.
Each tires is rated on multiple aspects like, noise, grip, cornering, wet, dry and snow driving - etc...
I still don't know which one is better for me.
thats why I came here!
I'm not sure whats my budget, but I guess I'll be getting the good tires that has resonable price.

Anyway, got snow tires over last weekend from Tire Rack (drove 100 miles to get there so they can do the install).
Ended up with Pirelli Snow Sport 210 (205/55/16-91H) on OEM 240 wheels that I got on ebay. So far it does feel a bit squishy compared to the pilot sports, but it improved my ride a bit, and I have been very happy with performance in dry and wet conditions.
I am not looking forward to snow and ice, but hopefully when it comes, I will be prepared.

Check out the reviews on tirerack.com, and also the
comparo between them, Pirelli, and Michelins.
They are a deal. Main complaints were that they can at times get flat spots. I noticed it once, when it was fairly cold, for CA, and the rubber must've hardened from the cold. In a few miles everything was fine. They're not summer tires, but very good if you want a tire that lasts a while (Treadwear is rated 400!), looks cool, and costs little. They got like an 8.5 overall on tirerack.
Way ahead of the Conti's MB puts on the C7 wheels stock.
It rains a lot here, and I get very good wet traction. A predictable, although perhaps, less exciting tire than say
a A008R in the dry.

Busted sidewalls galore.
Great on lighter cars, downright dangerous on heavier cars according to reviews on tirerack.
(I spent like a week reading reviews, and finally went with the
all season tires, since the rains have started and we get at least 30 inches a year out here on the coast)
Only downside on the Contis is slight tire noise around 70-80 mph. Not that bad. 1st time I heard it, it kinda freaked me out.
Kinda a resonance, likely different on different size tires.
Also they don't track all over the road like the Pilots that came on the car.

I wonder if I should get snow tires also
I am in Northern VA and we got a lot of snow at the beginning of the Year... Though didn't have any major issues driving.
Am I going to have a problem with this snow tire, or can I get by until a little of the tread wears down?
I already have the Continentals to sell, if I have to buy a set of 205 snow tires I will have to try and sell them.
I checked the diamenter on the summer tires 25.7 and the winter tires are 26 inches.
What to do???
I just got the Conti Extremes last week. Seem OK so far. I paid $95 each from Discount Tire. I was really disappointed in the Michelin Pilot Sports, not from performance but from lack of wear. They were bald at 20K miles, and I drive like an old lady. Mostly. I won't go back to Michelins again.
