W203/CL203/S203 TIRE Discussion Thread - Every question on TIRES
On weekdays, the car is only driven to/from work (less than 10 miles each way, no bad roads). On weekends, I often take the freeway (10-20 miles each way). Sometimes, there are pothole/poor road conditions on parts of the 280 and 880 freeway. However, it's not really THAT bad; not enough for me to believe that is what's causing the excessive tire wear.
I run my tyres at 32 psi all round, FWIW. I would recommend you start checking your own tyre pressure regularly (at *least* once a month), and also your own thread wear - that way you know when to rotate your tyres. Also check the recommendation of the tyre manufacturer for rotation schedule.

option prefered at the moment:
1º-Bridgestone potenza RE050 (dont know about) (recomended by bridgestone for the coupe)
2º-Michelin pilot sport 2 (dont know about)
3º-Pirelli P zero rosso (my father have it on his 05' A6, great tires)
4º-Bridgestone potenza s-03 pole position (I had these on my BMW and they where great)
5º-Michelin pilot exalto (dont know about)(recomended by michelin for the coupe)
I have 4 225/45 Continental contisport contact 2 with C7 wheels, and I want a summer tires
Whats your opinion?

Both the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 and the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 are highly rated.
I would also use the same tire size on all four so you can rotate regularly.
After slamming it a little the 245/35ZR18 would look sick!

I would stick with the 40 profile in the front if you are going 225 wide.
Also, 255 would be 'phat' on the back, but I would definately verify that it would correctly fit a 8.5 rim first. The reason I mentioned it, is because I usualy don't see a 255 wrapped around anything smaller than a 9 inch wide rim. To help you in this quest, I would contact a few local tire/rim places and get 5~6 answers and compare them (or contact that tirerack guy on here...)
good luck, and I better see some pictures when you get them on!

1) Car's RWD 2) What are you asking? Since the rears are wearing more then the front, leave the tires the way they are until the rears go bald ??
Either way...try searching/posting in the Tire Forum portion of the board..might find whatever answer your looking for...
Getting an alignment and having it checked are two different things...If your questioning if the alignment is off...get it checked..I see coupons all the time in Sundays ad's for free alignment checks from various repair shops...

Search the boards here, and at MBKlass, as well as EBAY, and you may be able to find a set of C7 or the Sedan SE 5spoke 17s with good or new tires for the same price as a set of new tires. Figure $400-750.
For the money, nothing will improve your handling and looks as much as ditching the 16" rims.
