These actually replace the T1-S. They are nice tires but I did notice that it's a little bit bumpier but that's what I get for going from 17's to 18's. I got it at great price too so it was a bargain for me![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

Just switched from Pilot Sport to PS2 and notice a remarkable difference in ride and handling. They don't make much noise until they are at their limits, IMO. Still, I've only put about 500 miles on them so far.

you would include your car (YEAR / CHASSIS / MODEL)
as well as your location.
This will allow people to better answer your questions,
and find other people who may be near you and can help.

Profile updated... partially at least
I don’t think this will make any difference for, unfortunately, the particular tire is not sold in the US.
That is perhaps why I received no responses
Thnx

after coming back from dinner with parents coming out of a plaza 1.5 miles away from my house my right rear tire went flat. I felt a little wabble in the steering wheel and then heard "insert noise of your choice when you feel tire going flat" sound. I pulled over right away, but it was too late. The right rear tire wall are now shredded, good thing it didn't damage the rim. I manage to go forward at 2mph to get into the community gate and park on the side of the road. Now I'll have to call a flat bed tomorrow morning to get the car towed.
Stupid thing is I have the spare from my sister CLK which I can use, BUT I don't have the short bolts that are needed for the spare...

sorry to hear amigo..... what did you do with your original rims? I picked up new tires for 2 of them and keep them ready in my garage for when sh*t happens. I don't wanna be on that **** spare that comes with these cars for long. Best of luck man ...

ya know frank, you thought about getting a tire monitoring system? THey only run a couple of hundred bucks I think, but the fact that they would give you the heads up could save your *** on those expensive rims getting damaged next time. Just a thought amigo..........

Is it possible to fit these tires?
I did a brief search of the forum but didn't really come up with anything close. Sorry if i didn't search more extensively but I'm a bit in a rush.
Okay so to the point, the current tires on my 02 are wearing out and I came upon a really great deal for a new set of tires. Only problem is that the size of these tires are 225/65. I have the standard 02 rims which are 16". I know the 225 width will fit on them but i'm not sure about the 65 part, because my tires are 55. I took a look at current wheels and it seems that if they go any bigger they'll be rubbing against the bottom of the spring pad (whatever that cup thing is at the bottom). Please lemme know when you can if these tires will fit.

Did you calculate the diameter of these new ones that you are looking at and considered the repercussions thereof? That should answer part of your question.

Briefly since I don't have much time in the a.m., getting ready to rush out you know.

You said your current tires are "55", but you did not say what the width of the tire is. The original equipment (I believe) is 205-55 which makes your sidewall (the 55) at 112.75mm. With a 16 inch (406.4mm) wheel, that puts your total tire height at 631.9mm. Your new tire would have 146.25mm which would put the total tire size at 698.9mm. This is about 10.6% larger, or about .63 inches higher (little more than half an inch).

I replaced my OEM 205/55R16 tires with 225/50R16 tires and maintained the correct circumference. To go to the wider tread width (225), you need to go with the shorter (50-series) sidewall. Keep in mind, the Sport Package tires for your '02 used 225/50 R16s as well.
So, I would NOT go with a 65-series sidewall, as the increased height noted by Revstriker will change the overall circumference of the tire. This means speedometer errors for sure, maybe even some ALB/ESP issues, not to mention your concern for the potential clearance problems mentioned above.
This is my understanding of the issues, but I'm not a tire expert.

Thanks for all the info guys, i didn't even think about the ESP speedometer errors. MB-BOB i didn't get the sport package, and i'm nearly positive that the tires on there are 205/55. It's a shame i can't put the 225/65, cause i was getting an amazing deal on them... oh well...
