I always have to aim it back up since there are only about two inches on either side of the mirrors till you hit the doors.

What I understood that to mean is that if a bulb goes out another one *temporarily* takes over its function. Maybe I misread some old posts (can't find, probably wrong search words!). Please educate me.
Thanx

hey matt, can you turn on the TV function on the US Comand navigation system units? It is that blank button on the bottom left on the COMAND.

I started a thread a couple weeks ago about my sound system not sounding the same after I got my speakers replaced from the dealer. I wonder if they could have deactivated my Sound sound setting.????

The setting doesn't seem to do much. I've had it turned on an off in my car, just to see how it would affect the Bose system. In short, it hasn't. For some odd reason, just recently the Audiopilot system has been raising the volume significantly when the ambient noise increases. It used to be very subtle but has changed for some reason. I'll probably have the option turned back on again, along with the vehicle responsive volume set back to on (it's currently off), but this time at 3dB rather than 0dB.

OK, here are my findings after playing with the DAS:
1) The SOUND sound system setting does not have any noticeable effect that I could tell.
2) amdeutsch, the replacement light function was also "inactive" on my car, so I'm not quite sure what that is all about. I guess I could pull out a bulb and see what happens. However, I did find out that you can disable the turn signal on the mirrors, not that there's any reason to.
3)taylor192, there is a setting to enable the mirror feature. There is a setting for it in each door control module, and I turned both of them on, but it doesn't seem to work. I don't know if it has anything to do with having a 6-spd. Hopefully someone with power seats and 6-speed can tell us if their mirror tilts down in reverse. (mctwin2kman, I know you have those two options.)
I think that is all that I messed around with. I didn't have as much time to waste as I thought I would. And even though I essentially accomplished nothing, at least it should answer some questions.
Oh, Outland, as for the CD, the computer I was using is not even a regular laptop and it didn't seem to have a CD drive, unless there was something that opened up on it. It is kind of like a tablet PC with a touch screen, but a little bit bigger, and with some rubber coating to protect it.

Thanks for the research, Matt!
Your computer sounds a little different than the ThinkPad that Kleeman posted pics of. Interesting.
Thanks again.

Matt, it was inactive on my car as well. Apparently it is on all cars here, not just the C-class. I can tell you for a fact that it does work though, since my foglamp came on to substitute the city lamp when I was replacing the city lamp bulb to the LED bulb.

Has anybody tried to decifer the communication between the DAS computer and the vehicle? First you'd have to capture the data by tapping into the wires of the connector in the car then connect with DAS and send one command like changing xenon to present. Then look at the data log and see what happend. Hopefully this could be used to make/rig something without the need of a full blown DAS for things that most of us want changed.
