Anyone in Florida (Gainesville), can I borrow a 722.6 transmission dipstick

I know this is a long shot, but I don't want to spend the $50 to buy one or have the fluid topped off. I'm doing the TCU o-ring repair this weekend and I need to borrow a transmission dipstick.

I've been driving around with a leak for around 2000 miles and even drove on the highway. The transmission still shifts smoothly. I have no idea how much fluid was lost.

Thanks for your help.

I understand that you are trying to save $50 and not buy the trans dipstick. IMHO, you are taking a huge risk driving around with a trans leak. Trans repair/replacement can be very expensive.

I would let you borrow the trans dipstick; unfortunately, I am in North East coast.

You can buy one on e-bay for around $40.

Man, it took 3 hours and every one of my limbs and neck muscles are sore, but I did the TCU connector repair. It no longer leaks.

I also ordered a dipstick from ebay. I have no way of knowing how much fluid I lost over the last 2000 miles so I'm just going to wait until the dipstick comes in.

depending on the mileage on the car/trans, think about doing the trans service (dropping the pan, replacing the trans filter, put new gasket on the pan, pour new fluid). When you drop the pan, you will be able to see the condition of the fluid as well as any metal shavings (if any) on the magnet inside the pan.

Yeah I kinda want to. I'm at about 70k miles on the car.

I topped it off with spec 236.14 fluid. Does anyone know if it's OK to mix the fluids? I understand that if I drained the transmission, I'd be mixing the fluids anyways. Glyn?

All Benz approved fluids are miscible. No problem!

You only need six(6) quarts of MB trans fluid to fill when you drain from trans pan according my last visit invoice from MB dealer.

Talking c240 4matic w203 722.6 dip stick

No dip stick?? Just use a long zip tie. I use a $8 pack of 48 inch zip tie from a hardware store (home depot) but remember to cut (trim sides) zip tie at end about 5 inches because its to wide to fit in transmission hole. And you can use for motor oil also. Good luck.

And for less than 20 bucks you can get something somewhat meant for this particular operation.
