Shift knob help

Looking to replace the stock with a nice wood grain shifter to match the interior. Been on ebay and many MB sites so i know what i want, just haven't found it yet i guess. Anyone have any ideas?
Also, just how does the stock one come off? It's a 6 speed not an auto, been searching online but I've only found how to remove the auto ones. Any help here would be great.

I can't find the instructions for even the auto now, should have bookmarked it. Anyone want to give a quick "how to" here?

I needed one of these as well. A how to would be a good link to post up right here. I just ordered a cheap one from eBay. It's pretty nice looking, not ricey, and matches the interior. This is not that big of a deal for me but the shifter on the car when I bought it has like paint chips on the knob so I just didn't feel like spending $80 on a shift knob.

The 300xz i had before the 230, all you had to do was unscrew the knob and screw in the new one. Don't think it's that easy with the C class. I think you have to take the boot off as well.

Yeah thanks for the links, but mine looks nothing like that. Didn't know it would involve cutting the boot/knob ect. Maybe I'll just leave it be.
