I raced one not too long ago. Rolling and I took it real good. Then we came to a red light and it was a whole different story (even). Those 500s are pretty torquey.

Not shyt talking but I'm surprised you smoked one because they really move. Off the line I even had a hard time shaking off an S500 (half a car).

Good Job

What exactly have you done to boost the performance of your C320 enough that you smoked a CLS500?

THE C350
In my dads g8 gt i took a cls550 but in my c320 i would have been miles back. As for a cls500 I have never driven one or raced one so have no clue. But i suspect he was not trying to hard.

Chirp on 2nd?
Is this manual or auto.
Surprised you can get anything extra out of the 215 hp stock engine.
Other than underdrive pullies and the C32 airbox, I never knew there was much to be done on these,
or add a Kleeman SC kit.

My 2002 w/ mods keeps up with my GF's ML350 w/ the 272HP engine and 7 speed tranny.
I'm guessing I get around 240HP at the crank but too cheap to
dyno.
Doubt I'd keep up or beat a CLS.
I don't race people so can't say.
The guy's car must be hosed.

The dude had huge chrome rims on his cls i know that will have a little play in his power loss.

I gutted the inside of the stock air box. Which i believe may be bigger then the C32 because there is more volume. After i removed all the fins inside the air box I felt a big power increase from 3k to 6k. I will take pictures later on to show what i did. I don't feel like takin the air box off and unscrewing everything lol. Its an auto but i use the tronic shifting.

Isn't there a pully kit for the c320?

UDPS
Light Weight Crank Pulley
203 'devil horns'/tvt tubes/
Renntech airbox/XF styled intake
74mm TBody
P&P Intake mani
Larger injectors
Headers
2ndary cat delete
Tune

I dont think there is an NA m112 with ALL of these mods, but the XF guys have seen ~225whp already w/ a combination of some of these mods, but not all of these mods.. Not bad if ya ask me I obviously forum ***** too much for any/everything involving this car of mine....

Stock for stock:

06 CLS 500 = 6.0-6.1 depending upon the review. 02 C320 is 7.4-7.6, also depending upon the review. I looked at Car & Driver as well as Edmunds. I'd say you were racing, but the CLS was not. But, it's still good fun.

Well the CLS500 is a 14 second car and it traps at 99. The C320 is a mid 15 second car and traps 87.

Granted this C320 is modded how much hp has been gained from stock 215hp and 221tq? Benefit of doubt lets say 30hp (no way but lets just say). 245hp and 251tq vs 306hp and 339tq.

3450 / 245hp = .0710
4048 / 306hp= .0755

3450 / 251tq = .0727
4048 / 339tq = .0837

Even with the extra 30hp and 30tq we gave you the CLS still has the advantage especially off the line. A very huge advantage off the line.

He really pulled down his window and asked you what you have? I usually get the thumbs up or give the thumbs up and that's that.

Yeah he kept asking if my car was supercharged he said he was amazed by how much it sounds like it. Gave me a thumbs up. I know he was racing because we both took off & left everyone in the past.

I know the facts say the 320 0-60 is 7 seconds But i swear mine gets there so much faster.

I think i need to go to the track and trap my real times.

But Isn't the Gearing on our cars is way different?

Gotta Remember weight is a HUGE factor.

I raced a 1.8 turbo charged GTI modded on the way home from shopping. Dead even until about 60 were i was starting to walk on him got up to about 100 and then slowed down. & Raced again with the same results. He said his motor was built but i don't know how much?

Wish i had my camera. Def going to take it out more just need to find a spot to mount it

How much do the stock GTI's have? I know some are different he said his was stage 2 whatever that means

Why not go to Qualcomm and see what it’ll do?

if you open your air box where your filters are and look at the bottom portion of the box theres little fins lining the bottom of the box. Just take a dremel tool or whatever you have that can cut it and remove it all, it'll smooth out the airflow supposedly.

Sounds basic, but have you guys seen any real improvements or are they just psychological?

Yes weight is a huge factor and so is the 100 more tq he has on you. He has you beat on power to weight both hp and tq. Like I mentioned before I myself have a hard time going up against the CLS500 and I can't imagine you being able to "smoke" a CLS500.

Watch this video. No way your car can take these cars....sorry.
