NEED HELP- 3 CEL codes!!!!
39k milew on car, about a month ago i started having problems. car start up and runs fine when cold. but when u run into store for 5 minutew and come out and try to start up , car cranks a long time to start up , runsrough, and can not go over 3.5k rpm. let it cool down and all is well went to autozone and obdii meter said bad cps, so i repace it with help of Glyn Ruck-THANK YOU and it was a challenging repacement. problem not resolved!!! go back to autozone and get these codes P0335 P0101 P0172 i clean maf w maf cleaner and put dielectric grease on connector, also did this w cps connector. same problem i must admit that i did break off by accident a few months ago 1 of the 2 plastic flanges on the maf body that secure the maf to the engine. it still seems attached well w just 1 flange connector. whas the problem, could it be from the dielectric grease??? could it be cause of having only 1 of 2 maf flange connectors??? if so, can i buy just the plastic maf body and use my current maf sensor??? thanx, mike

Below is the picture that shows tabs on the MAF and the clip that keeps the MAF in place... which one is broken?

P0335 = Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
P0101 = Mass or Volume Circuit Range Performance Problem
P0172 = System too Rich (Bank 1)
Presume you had cancelled all codes & these returned?
Seem to have a poor connection at new CPS.
Running well when cold makes sense - she is running rich. This will give poor hot running.
This is not an air or vacuum leak or she would run too lean.
It seems that you have a MAF problem - clean &/or replace.
You could also have a faulty temperature sensor. CPU thinks the car is cold & enriches mixture.
Check MAF, check/replace temp sensor.
Investigate CPS connection.
Good luck!

update, cleaned maf . cleaned connectors to maf and cps with contact cleaner. went for a drive and car ran great for 10 minutes and then acted up again-- long crank to start, runs ruff, and cant rev over 3500 rpm. only happens when car is hot and usually on restart, forgot to mention sometimes get message on dash " ESP malfunction, go to work shop" and " speedtronic not funtioning proceed to work shop" this is verrrrrry frustrating. the temp gauge in dash appears to function normally, slowly climbing to 85 degrees when fully warmed up. glyn had mentioned testing the temp sensor, hey im up for anything at this point, where is it and how do i test it??? many thanx, mike

See 30 in the diagram. Frankly - you can't really test these sender unit's & need to ensure they are making a good earth.
Easiest to replace. It might not be the temp sensor but it is suprising how often it is the culprit. We don't have the pleasure of having spares lying around like the dealer has.
