Has no one but me and Drew picked up on the general arrogance of C320 owners? There have been a handful of members on here with pre-facelift C320s who think their cars are just amazing. The C320 was extremely average when it was new and is well below average today. Not that I'm saying the C230s were ever great or anything. Hell, even the C350s are average today. I just always thought it was funny.

Hope that doesn't apply to me...

I mean... I get thumbs ups and sometimes even double thumbs ups on the DAILY but I don't come in here and brag about it.

No not you.. I'm also not saying there was anything wrong with a C320, I'm just saying a powerhouse it is not. Nor does it make you superior to the smaller engined cars like the 230K and 240.

Is a C320 less powerful than a C230? I mean excuse my ignorance, I don't know where the power lines are drawn.

Almost dropped my sarsaparilla when Glyn M Ruck shared a 168-horsepower (@ 5700 rpm) 240 M112 C would do an honest 240 km/h on the top end.

Don’t doubt his reliable firsthand account at all, but it probably took a while to get there.

C320 - 215hp/221tq
C230K M111 - 192hp/200tq
C230K M271 - 189hp/192tq
C240 - 168hp/177tq

All of these cars are slow.

And Trey, if I were going to be jealous of a 3.2L V6 it would be one that had some decent power, not the M112. Maybe the J32A2 from the old TL-S with 260/233. Or the 3.2L I6 with 333hp from the E46 M3.

Damn right it took a while to get there. Driving through our Karoo one has plenty of time. I'll bet it won't get there any longer with 235 tyres fitted instead of 205's. I've screwed up that 0.27 CD.

lol, jk, the cars aren't necessarily slow, they just aren't fast, i mean they're faster than your average passenger sedan if you think about it, you have to compare it with what it is, it's not really fair to compare a 4 door sedan to a 2-dr sports coupe (aka m3). i don't mean this in a sarcastic way towards you, just saying that it's a great car for what it is

you also forgot the m272 c230(which is what i have) - 201hp/181tq

LOL... I haven't been on here in a couple of weeks and this happens! Great job, I was wondering why that guy was so obnoxious. I remember him bagging on a guy for not having fences around his nice *** neighborhood.... and smoking CLS500s....

but after he cut his OEM springs it handled like $h!t after 70mphs... so how can he race a car and not worry about losing his handling.

That's the level of IQ we're dealing with here. Someone who believes a tire can grip better on a wet surface than dry.

Don't forget about this one Phi.

he was probably talking to some young kid thinking an intake and exhaust is "built". A built motor to me is completely ripping it apart and rebuilding it with high performance parts.

A built GTI to me is exactly what you said. Ripping the engine apart, putting better internals and swapping the turbo to a bigger one and up the boost.

You also have to understand this is also coming from a person who cut the fins in his airbox and put K&N filters and calls it a modded car and thinks he gained soo much hp than he can hang with a CLS500

true... not like the bigger wheels added any weight to his car, it was just his gf that always was the weight issue... maybe he should've had the "NO FAT CHICKS" sticker on his car, but if he had that all the girls he kept hollering at wouldn't have been able to ride with him
