I have a c180K 2005 model (auto).Suddenly today when i started it, the idling is really rough. When i drive, the performance is fine and there is no problem. The moment i stop at a Stop sign or traffic light, it is back to very rough idling. Any advise as to what this can be? Vehicle was serviced about 3 months ago. Thanks.

Throttle body might be dirty or malfunctioning. Search for posts by nlpamg and rough idle.

Clean the MAF, my C240 did that shortly before it started to throw CELs related to the MAF.

Could also be plugs or on-plug coils. Oil in engine harness from leaking cam adjusters etc.

Get hold of an OBDII reader & tell us if the car is storing codes & what they are. Plug under the steering column beneath a rectangular cover.

As stated, there may be several reasons. Getting a software scan is probably the best way to go if you don't wanna play the guessing game..
