OLED would be SICK! Have images flow across your car the whole time you drive, and go into stealth mode

- the impact strips (just pops off)
- window trim (just pops off)
- taillights (couple screws)
- mirror covers (just pops off)
- hood vent (couple bolts)
- grill (couple bolts and rivets)
Why did you take the rear bumper off? It looks easy enough to do with it on...??? Do you plan on taking the front bumper off? Its a PITA.

There are different ways to wrap a vehicle. I do the more time consuming way as it will last longer and look better. I take off just about everthing to expose the edges of each piece better. This allows me to wrap right to the edge and sometimes fold over the edge of the piece im wrapping.
DIY
As I remove I label all screws/pins/clips by piece in bins for easy re-assembly.
I take off these pieces
Front bumper (remove mesh, fogs, 2 strips)
Rear bumper (remove 3 strips )
Side skirts (door sills come off with these)
Side mirrors (remove interior door panel to unhook power mirrors)
Door handles
Door trim
Window trim
Rear window trim (painted piece above window)
gas cap door
6 Door impact strips
Tail lights
Hood (can be done on car but easier to wrap standing up if you're solo)
Hood vent
Grille
Wrap rear 1/4 panel and door together
front 1/4 seperate
Then wash all pieces
Then clay bar all pieces (if not you will get small bumps under vinyl)
rewash the piece
Rub piece with 50/50 isoproply alcohol
apply 3m tape primer 94 to the edges of the piece and areas that may lift
wrap the piece
use knife to trim edges
reinstall

Man that's a lot of work! Even most paint places don't do that much work when respraying a car
I didn't even consider the hatch: license plate, lights, badges, .. arg! You've got more patience than I have.

Very interesting, although not my thing. There is a guy here in Atlanta that had Matte black sprayed on a W209, even the headlights and taillights -- I think I got a picture somewhere.
Definitely want to see the finished results!

Found the picture of the CLK430. It actually does sort of look plasti-dipped to me. Good way to ruin what was a nice -- either white or silver -- CLK, IMHO. Personally it looks to me like something to run moonshine in, if it had been back in the 1950's.
I suspect the wrapped Coupe will turn out looking a lot better (I hope!), but at least it can be peeled if you don't like it. Definitely want to see the pics.

Driver side mirror left then project finished. It started raining the second I pulled it out of the garage so another set of cell phone pics.

Out Of Control!!
Looks good to me. Glad that you didn't tink everything dark too, that would be too much, as a little contrast is nice. Now you need to vinyl the interior.

If i do a matte/flat color I'd opted to get the Carizzma Flat paints here some of their colors. it has a flat clear on it too so its super easy to clean, just wash and wipe down.
I was going to do my previous car this blue
flat silver = SEXY

Thanks!
Ive heard estimates in north america 2-4k
I did DIY so it was much less.
Vinyl $700
Trim removal tools $15
Tape primer $13
Heat gun $20
Torx set $10
blades to cut- already had.
4 full days in my garage- angry wife
so a diy is about 800
Haha I don't know. When did you live here? I got my first MB in 07 and have stuck with them since.

Last cell pic
one more pic after the car is now 100% done/washed
And yes grass parking is ghetto - I'm widening the driveway as soon as weather permits.

Who wants to go to red? I wonder how this will be side by side with our Magma Red Mercedes. I wouldnt mind doing my hood if its a close match since I have paint chips!

My progress right now is 0% since I am deployed haha! But when I get back I am going to go check these guys out and see how close the color is to my car since I figure if I wrap it, no paint chips!! When I get back there will be a lot of changes made to my car, I will keep people posted and post pics of my car finally!
