Lowest Offsets without Spacers?

I plan on changing the offsets on my 3 piece wheels and get a bigger lip on my rears.

Does anyone know the lowest offsets I can pull off to clear the caliper without using spacers and for the rear wheels for biggest lip?

Thanks

**oh and the wheels are 18x8 and 18x9

If your wheels fit right now then you wont need any spacers to clear the calipers if you only plan on changing the outside barrel only. But if you do a larger lip on a multi piece wheel your width of the wheel is going to change unless you get new barrels for the outside and inside because if you keep the inside barrel and change just the outside for more lip its going to widen the wheel. Also when you do this your offset is going to be the same but just a wider wheel. So if you want a larger lip you'll probably want to get a 9.5-10 rear wheels and you want an offset of like +25-+20. But if you want to keep your 9" rear you might be able to manage +20-+18 offset but you'll need to get both barrels to make that work. WORK and other companys recommend just selling the wheels and buying a set that that meet what you want because when removing the barrels you'll want to make sure its sealed properly and all the bolts are torqued to spec.

Plus buying the barrels is hella expensive. Barrels for my wheels are 200 a piece just for the outside! So 800 just for the outside plus maybe another 800 for the inside, no thank you.

thanks for the info! well one of my works vs-xx has been leaking air slowly and i found out yesterday it was leaking from the seal so i thought i might as well get the wheels powdercoated! i like the mesh design for wheels so it was either vs-xx or bbs-lms.

the fronts alone i need 15mm to barely clear the caliper. i think i'm too lazy to sell the wheels and go find one to my liking. i guess i won't rebarrel and just refinish my wheels.

I plan on powdercoating the face to a blue light chrome like this rim

my car is iridium silver and it has the mercedes blue tint so i thought this color will go well with a polished lip and i'll be painting the rivets/bolts anodized blue. hopefully it will come out nice

** i asked the shop how much it would cost to relip the wheels and have it be stepped lip, it would of cost $250 for each rim.**
i also got the specs for my alignment .. i camber everywhere the front driver side camber the most it's like 2.0 degrees and recommended factory was like 0 degree. the rest is a little off compared to factory recommended settings

Here's two pictures. Cars sorta dirty.

My next choice of color is: White Face with Polished Lip and Gold Rivets/Bolts? Which do you guys think would look better? Or do you guys have any other color combo The silver does look nice but my car color is too silver/bright for the wheels haha.

i think black wheels look great on either a silver or white car, i would say go black face with polished lip, and then for the bolts....red, silver, bright blue or something. if you go with the white face, i think any blue color looks great with silver.

I agree with the black but only when it has some CF add on. I had black wheels when i first put on the brabus bumpers and i thought it looked weird without any CF parts because my car was too silver. Black wheels looked nicer on my car when i had the amg bumper + cf lip.

yeah i guess you do need some other black to match it up. ive got the black cl grille, cf lip, about to order some black depos and install a brabus 4 tip w/cf diffuser and cf trunk lip, then vinyl the roof black, so it makes more sense for me.

i think a dark gunmetal would look pretty good too, contrast well with the light silver color maybe?

yeah that's also one of my options. my friend came up with the idea of 24k gold dipping the face but it's $600 per face haha. Or 24k gold lip the lip and white face. I have until next week to decide.

** maybe like this gunmetal?

your shop is only charging $250 per wheel to turn into step lips?? thats cheap, they gotta change inner and outer barrel and the rim turns into a 19" wheel.. what shop?? are these authentic work barrels??? are you in Cali??

that gunmetal looks pretty nice. i was actually thinking of a darker gray gunmetal, like as dark as it can go without looking black. like this maybe:

@Rollnnn: Yeah i'm in SoCal. The shop called and said it was a rough estimate. The place is called SimpleWheelWerk, the guys over at club lexus forums recommends them. The offsets are either around 36 or 38. True about the 24k dip I just thought it was a wild idea that my friend tossed me haha. I'm pretty sure the barrel that's on right now are authentic WORK barrels not sure about the ones they would add.

@Mulac: yeah thats a nice gunmetal, if I were to go black or gunmetal I'll probably get a CF roof spoiler to compensate the black.

and just to add my 2 cents, your car looks clean the way it is, but if you do change it, gun metal would look good as well...

Thanks! I just need to change it because the punk who mounted one of my tires messed up the seal and now it's leaking. I would of had to take it apart and reseal and i thought why not just powdercoat? A lot of people/friends are also saying i should go gunmetal, maybe gold rivets?

Yeah I think there's two owner. Virginia the female and Paolo the guy.

Here's their site: http://simplewheelwerks.com/Home.html

It's located in Carson
