Hi Guys,
New member, first post, I appreciate the information found in this thread, in particular the confidence of Glyn in recommending the Fuchs Titan 4134. I have ordered and received 12L and a Mann Gasket and Filter kit to do the service on my wife's 04 C200K (1.8 120kw) with the 722.6 5 Speed Automatic. I understand from Mercedes technician that there is a drain plug on the torque converter. I have also found in another thread that it is wise to replace the drain plug bolt and o ring when doing this service and also the o-ring on the automatic transmission control unit.
Thank you for all of this information and I look forward to documenting my experience with performing the transmission service.
I have already performed an oil change with MB approved full synthetic. I have replaced the oil and air filters with a german made Mann filter. I have replaced the spark plugs with Beru Platinum Z-226 (made in France). I have replaced the pollen filter.
The engine has responded well to all of this and I can not wait to perform a great job on the automatic transmission in order to ensure the longevity of the vehicle.
Thank you.

Your 722.6 5 speed transmission is unlikely to have a TC drain plug. You can check but they were deleted from the 5 speed in 1999 & reintroduced on the second generation 722.9 7 speed.
If your fluid is in poor condition the flushing procedure is in the W203 Wiki. See Wiki button in the top of page toolbar.

I should mention the specific vehicle I have purchased for my wife is a CL203 Sports Coupe.

I am desperate for feedback about redline high temp atf
Just because a brand of fluid hasnt been "approved" by Mercedes doesnt mean its the wrong fluid. Ive emailed Redline and their response was they recommened their D4 ATF for mercedes 5 speed but since I live in a tropical country High Temp would work as well. Im happy with the results and car is running great.

Hi MazdaMan, Sorry for the SUPER late reply, I ended up using 16 liters of Redline High Temp before the color of the atf coming out of the machine was bright red. I didnt use any lubegard,, The climate here is pretty much constant, never goes below 25C year round even at night, day time temps usualy in the 30s celicus. The transmission is running perfectly fine and shifts smoothly. I did a drain and refill at 90k km using high temp again.. Hope this helps

I don't know if Mercedes was wrong about their fluid but the factory fill fluid looked and smelled burned at 45,000km. The transmission shifts were getting rough at this point too. This could also be due to the hot climate here and alot of stop and go traffic which wears out ATF alot sooner than highway driving.
