Ordered 12 quarts from ryder . They didnt deliver after 3 days called every other hour complaining .... They sent me 2 x 12 quarts so now im set . Also why does shell post semi synthetic on there containers ?

It's just Shell being honest & living by the European definition of what one may term synthetic vs. the US definition which is different.

All these fluids are by German definition semi - synthetic.

As one goes up in base oil classification i.e. Group II & above so additive miscibility in the BO becomes a greater challenge.

So to achieve a balanced product with the desired characteristics we make the majority of the base oil VHVI synthetic for the viscometrics & oxidation stability we require while using a proportion of petroleum derived base oil to act as a co-solvent to get the additives into the blend & achieve stability.

So - semi-synthetic!
