You can safely mix these products. Miscibility with other approved products is part of the MB approval system.

These products are all fungible.

I had my fluid changed with Fuchs 4134 at 100k miles. Used 4 quarts. I'm at 115 now and am thinking of having it done again because it's so cheap at my indy mechanic ($50 labor) and the Shell fluid is reasonable. If I had it changed say 2x in the next 5,000 miles would that be as good as a single flush? Or do I just need to have that done at once?

LILBENZ,

a complete drain and fill say ~ 3-4 times would replace all the old fluid with new one(Dont just adds 4 quarts or 5 quarts) Complete drain/measure what came out and replace the same qty. So yea go ahead and do this. But then look to do the complete drop pan-replace filter at 150-175k miles......You need that old filter and gasket out to keep everything sane in there.......

It's very easy to do a flush.
The fluid + filter change is 80% of the work.
After that you only need to
1. pull out the hose from the radiator
2. drain into a container (turning the car on forces the fluid out) (I used a 3 liter container when it was full I turned the car off)
3. replace what you take out
4. Repeat until you've gone though 12 liters.

Matt - If your fluid was not badly degraded then a couple of back to back short term changes without filter is fine.

Glyn - Yep, transmission fluid wasn't that bad.. fluid/filter/gasket/electrohydraulic bushing replaced all at 100k. Went ahead and bought another bushing.. will have that checked at next change probably ~120k.

Great minds...I ordered mine on Monday from Ryder fleet. 12 quarts for 59.07 including shipping. That's under $5 a quart! I expect to be getting it in time to do the flush & fill this weekend.

The only bad thing I can say about Ryder is that they don't email you a tracking number. The day I was going to ask them about what was going on with my order it was waiting for me after work.

Funny how people are reluctant to do the full flush.
As pointed out the hard part is being under the car.
The rest is a piece of cake.

Called mb . atf 134 is approved but theres only 5 quarts in the tranny pan , and 4 more quarts in the torque converter . I then preceeded to ask if i could drain the torque converter myself . Mb tech said i would have to seperate the engine from the tranny . **** . Is there a DIY for a full tranny service flush , filter , gasket change ?

Those guys are high!!! Seperate the engine from the tranny?
LOL??!!!
Fuking nuts!
Yes, it can be easily done.
I find there is usually only 4 quarts in the pan, and 5 still in the system.
Read this thread, and you will know all there is to know.
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...n-related.html

Whats a collar line?
You pump the fluid out from the trans cooling hose at the top of the radiator vs. from the connection at the bottom of the car (as shown in the mercedes docs) which require some special fittings and it's not the way to go unless you have a lift.
All is explained.
You'll need 10-14 quarts of fluid, a filter, gasket, copper washer for drain plug, and
replace the orings while you're at it. A plastic cement mixing pan from home depot is big enough to accommodate the whole pan, and you'll need some plastic hose and a hose clamp, and some
empty plastic gallon jugs.
Mercedes calls it a Pilot bushing, ie the plastic piece with the orings.
A torque wrench is also handy, since the torque specs for the pan bolts is pretty light.
You'll also need the oring used on the radiator to cooling hose connection.
