Manual Shiftknob

I have a pre-facelift c230 (the 1 piece shiftknob) and im looking for a new one since mine is getting worn out. I know that I will have to cut my existing one to use the boot but im having no luck finding a knob. Can someone post some up that would work?

Any knob that doesn't screw in will work.

Do you want it to work with your current f'd-up Mercedes mechanism? If so, then Brabus, Renntech, Carlsson, Shatz are really the only alternatives.

If you want to think outside the box a little, the possibilities are fairly endless. Just get a knob with a variety of plastic inserts to fit your shaft, and an allen screw at the bottom. They'll all work, you'll just have to figure out how to make the knob to boot junction look appealing.

This topic has really been discussed many times over; do a search, and see what everyone else has done. That's the main reason why no one has responded to your thread.

I Just installed razo 400g shifter knob, i had to cut upper section of the shifter rod and cut 10mm tread, so now i can use any aftermarket shifter knobs, it shifts so much better and shorter shift travel too, oh and don't cut the leather boot you can take original appart.

Do a search here, or also try Renntech's site ( www.renntechmercedes.com ) - you might have to call them; their catalog does't list the knob - I had one years ago, and while it did work with the stock mechanism, it wasn't much of an improvement over stock. Brabus' US site is http://www.brabus.com/en/raster.php?page=4 , but they don't list any W203 applications. The knob for the W204 should fit, I'd guess.

Both sites should list dealers of their stuff. If you do contact Renntech directly, ask for Bob Brady (no relation to the bunch) - he's very helpful.
