Why I've Been Gone

I feel like I owe some of you guys an explanation...

In the past year, I have been in a transitional period in my life. I had some trouble with school, which caused some family trouble. I left school in Jacksonville and moved back to Gainesville for school. My parents used my car to "motivate" me to do better in school, which resulted in my car being sold. I had intended to continue to be an active member of this forum, but it has been difficult for me, not because of my attachment to the car, but because of the things in my life that accompanied the loss.

I'm not writing this to get sympathy, I just one day dissappeared from this forum without any word to anyone. I have really missed everyone here, and I still want to contribute where I can and be around.

...and in case anyone is wondering, I am now driving a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis Palm Beach Edition with 70,000 miles.

Sorry for your troubles. I can bet that Mercury is a real come downance for you. Try to learn a lesson from you situation. Mistakes are the best teachable moments - much better than successes.

Hopefully, you'll get back in the saddle of a nice MB or other nice car soon!

Good luck

Good to hear from you again. Sorry about the car man i don't wish a crown vic on anyone i can't stand how they drive. But at least you have a mode of transportation better than a bike. I hope you get you school issue fixed.

Thanks, guys. I actually, don't mind the car too much. It's very comfortable. I hope to buy my first ca back soon. It was a '99 CLK320. I know the guy who bought it, and he is thinkiing about getting a new car. That's really the car I miss.

I'm currently at Santa Fe College, but I plan to transfer to the University of Florida at the end of fall semester. I'm doing well, now. My grades are coming back. Things are going well.

That's good man. That's really the only important thing right now is focusing on studies. I have 4 weeks left in my program. It has been a grayling 2 1/2 years of school 5 days a week plus 4 months of internships. But I'm glad everything is good for you now at least.

And no mention of our Vegas wedding at all? Pfft.

I've been mostly inactive on the forum lately, too. It's good to see you back on here.

I'm still with my gf. She's been very supportive about everything. Overall, I'm happier here than I was before, which is great.

Take that Grand Marquis, slap true dual exhaust under it, find P71 (Crown Vic police packaged) sways, springs and ECU and you can start having some fun. And all for amazingly cheap prices -- especially considering what you are used to with MB parts. Swing by the guys at Crownvic.net and you'll get some ideas.

Of course you'll be back in the saddle with a MB before too long. And I can say I do understand -- been there, done that, got the t-shirt, etc. It will all work out.
