So Many Problems: Electrical
Bought this car for my wife a year old in 2003, was great until about a year ago and honestly I been putting stuff off because most of it was here and there and would go away. Now the damn thing is stuck in 1st gear after a jump start and I cannot get it out. Here is a list of Codes and in her writing what has been going on with it prior to the tranny issue.
P0135
p0128
p0101
p0702
p0301
Was able to clear codes with obd scanner, all but 702 disappeared.
Radio:
1) randomly acts as if it has no power, screen won't light up and no sound.
2) when playing music from the radio it will randomly begin to "skip" the sound will turn off and on in a very predictable pattern sometimes for minutes other times for days
3) sometimes the radio appears to be on (screen is lit and will change stations) but there will be no sound
4) cd player will not play CDs **** NOTE: car has the cd changer in glove box***
Driver seat:
Seat will not move forward or backwards only up/down and able to just the back of seats angle
Car electronic power:
1) battery will die if not driven at least 30mins each day
2) recently at random car will loose all power example: after starting the car fine with no issues and driving 30mins before parking car then turned car off and exited when key was pressed to lock car nothing happened. Reopened driver door and car had no power, dash screen did not light up and car would not start.
AC:
Driver side ac blows only hot air no matter what the climate control is set on. Passenger side blows at coolest about 76 degrees.

I remember that when we had changed battery in past *this car has always had a issue with draining batteries* it wouldnt shift after it went dead. So I tried unhooking, press brake for drain *worked in my rx7s to drain remaining, no idea if its same with mb* and hooked battery back up with a jumper box to ensure it had plenty of power and code still came, car shifts HARD into gear. This is my wife's daily driver to school, we dont have much $$ so anything I can check please let me know.

about a year, we have to jump the car all the time because it dies. Ive pulled fuses, unplugged the box under the driver seat etc trying to figure out what was draining and had no luck.

The car is in limp mode.
Battery run flat is likely seat modules or a/c sniffer fan module in the overhead console
P0135 = O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1) - replace upstream O2 sensor
P0128 = Coolant Thermostat (Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature) - replace thermostat
P0101 = Mass or Volume Circuit Range Performance Problem - clean or replace MAF
P0702 = Transmission Control System Electrical - likely common oil leak at TCU plug bush. Check & replace bush & O rings
P0301 = Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected - change plugs - check coilpack & wires on cylinder 1
Aircon likely needs regassing & leak check.
Have the battery load tested & check all power connections & earth.
Has this car had all it's scheduled services?

It had its 100k big service @ 96k, its got almost 130k on it now. The sunroof controls ive had unplugged for a while due to sunroof being a massive piece of **** and not wanting idiots to open it. So between that and the seat might be the drain im looking for. If its the AC sniffer, is there any fix for that or is it just a replacement? Also the driver seat doesnt move forward and back anymore, broken wire maybe? I put a new MAF in it at the 96k service, ill check that. When you say the TCU bush, do you mean bushing? Any idea on part#? Thanks so much for your help!!!

Seat is broken wire, or disconnected or burnt motor. Samaritrey has a thread on motor replacement.
If sniffer fan module is not going to sleep I think you will have to replace.
TCU to transmission multipin bushing, front RHS diagonal of transmission, bushing with O rings is an $9 part & is P/N A 203 540 02 53

The motor is an easy thing to test. Just take it out of the car and give it 12 volts and see what happens. If you have the torx screwdriver and something to cut a zip tie it take like 2 minutes to get out. Let me know if you have any questions

to clarify, when I pull this bushing all the atf should drain? I am pretty sure ive lost a few quarts and ive left it draining. There was a small amount of oil wic'd up into where the tcm is, but never got off the floor board, the computer and all wires leading up to it were dry as a bone.

well we had done it pass side up, it was draining and couldnt get a good clean on the plugs so we sat it level overnight and let it drain itself at level. We got plug in, looked to be about 2qt loss, added fluid in. Same result 702 error, im about to go kick the damn cart off the jack.

Double checked the tcm, started to pop it apart but didnt want to worry about breaking it, i peered inside, seen no trace of oil. How do I know if we did the bushing correctly? I am frustrated to no end right now.

Just walked back out to car, all fluid i put in is on the ground. Had my wife crawl under while i poured more in to figure out where it came from, it appears the dipstick line is not attached, atf pours out above the bushing area

So correct fluid issue + computer cleared cost me $200 by a benz tech. Corrected that issue, we got the ac issue fixed, the thing was so low on freon it was freaking out. Ran some oil and sealer through it and recharged it. Ice cold. Motor under driver seat is burned out, going to swap one from passenger seat so it works until the new motor comes in. The fan in the light dome is perma running so that appears to be draining issue. Do we have to replace the entire dome to fix that? Or is it due to seat modules staying on?
