Kompressor turbocharge diagram
crazy expensive.Here's the pictures

Why are you looking at this? Did yours go bad?
BTW it's a supercharger, but the mb epc calls it a turbo incorrectly.
Check ebay, or send yours out to be rebuilt like here,
http://www.magnusonproducts.com/reman/index.htm
It's an Eaton M45 Supercharger, but there are many variations thereof
for different vehicles.
I replaced mine at 120K bought off ebay for $600 and
sold the old one for $250, so only 350 invested,
which is about the price of a rebuild.

Later we sent the car to my mechanic for inspection and found no leak from turbo, the noise may be from pully, but so far nothing serious.

MBClub, I can almost guarantee you have a pulley and or tentioner
going out.
Mine is making noise these days on start up but goes away after a minute or so when the whatchamacallit valve opens after it's warmed up a bit.
I replaced the pulley and tensioner a while back and it was very quiet,
but it's slowly coming back but only on startups so to heck with it.
If the oil was leaking from the supercharger it would likely be out the front seal. How many miles on the car?
What year?

omg this is what I was looking for..............geeez thanks

if calling it supercharger give your ego a boost then call it supercharger............supercharger/turbo.........

whatever.........

well, you know alot about w203, i want to ask you another question about this car. everytime when starting this car, there's a ticking sound from inside of the dashboard and goes away about 1 min, can you give me an advise what kind of problem can this be? I'll suggest my friend to replace the pully and check tensioners. Thank you
The ticking from inside the dash is part of the climate control system. There are little arms attached to stepper motors to control the various vents/plumbing which break. See the 'sticky' at the top of this forum (Noisy Air Conditioner ?? Stepper Motor Replacement / Clicking & Hissing).

2002.
Note the 271 that mean it's for the M271 engine, 1.8L
It's still an Eaton M45 but different configuration.
I have the pn for the 2002 around here somewhere if you need it.
114K the SC is probably OK. They are designed to go 100K miles...
and sometimes even double that according to the rep from Eaton I spoke to.
But as I run additional boost.....

Mine was still OK at 120K but I like a reliable car, and don't want to be stuck with my pants down on a long trip without an inexpensive source of parts.
If I waited till it broke, and I either paid someone or paid to tow it,
it would be verrrry expensive like 3 grand vs. doing in advance ~$400 out of pocket.
I had the alternator rebuilt at the same time, and
pulled the SC muffler too, and new belts etc also.
I coulda probably gotten more than 250 for my old one, but it was a forum member who wanted to rebuild it and port it...don't think he ever did.

Thanks alot for this information, i finnaly found the problem!

Alhough there's no damage we still replaced the plastic arm with our new part, just in cause. Another 2 hours put everthing back together, and test it, the sound still there

But softer... ahhhh, i guess is a gear or something inside the motor is broken, but at least noise is reduced alittle bit.

Maybe after a couple days of good rest we will buy a new motor fix this problem. Tired.....

Thats one job I have yet to attempt, mine blows air on your feet no matter the setting,
your feet bake in the winter, freeze in the summer.
There is a DIY with pics here somewhere but wow, I am impressed...
wanna do mine?
Did you run the diagnostic?
Push uh...which is it, recirc and defrost and hold to run
diagnostic on the flaps?
AHAHAHA, the stealer tried to sell you 3 grand of work for a problem in the
air system. Typical.

Dealer always try to charge you for a huge amont for any type of job. I used to bought four spark plugs for this 2002 mercedes from dealer cost somewhere around $98, then i went to a local auto zone, their price for four bosh sparks is only $26, I was like: holy ****! That's 4 times more then normal price! only the packaging is nicer with MB logo and stuff.Aslo my 98 benz has some strange noise from transmission area, I went to dealer, they sent someone go for a test drive with me. After that he won't tell any possibility until i pay for $160 for dignose fee.
But for 3000 for fix a cliking sound or change a tinny motor, its definitely not woth. Do it yourself, slow and detail job only take i will say 2 days.
and if you need help with steps i can tell you, lol... its not hard
Has anyone ever taken off the supercharger? I need instructions on this. Changing out my idler pulley and tension pulley. I want to tackle this project from the top. So I have taken the air box off. Also do you think I need to replace any gaskets while it is off? Problem: I been having a chirping noise and clicking noise when the air condition is on and i'm reversing or at a dead stop. I took the belt off and resonator. I came across another problem. Everyone please check your power steering pump pulley for a clicking noise next time you change your serpentine belt. It swivels too.. So I believe I will need to replace my power steering pump. Hopefully not, unless they have a pulley replacement for it.
