So what are the pros / cons to unsilencing the supercharger ?

Is it a DIY or do you need to have it done at a shop.

What do you guys think ?

 

Remove giant plastic obstruction.
Enjoy additional power.
There's nothing else to discuss.

The only con is the possibility of you just happening to
doing a WOT run and a cop hears you, since at WOT it sounds like
a freakin' F16 taking off. The same sound that make you grin ear to ear,
when you floor it as you go through an underpass.
Really gets people's attention, you get respect, like if you are in 4x4, people get out of the way,
but at low throttle, you glide right through, fairly quietly.

 

I would love to do this on my m271 Is there a DIY somewhere?

I looked through the thread...it only lists where the resonator is located...sort of.

How do I get to it? :S

Ummm... FYI Jeff if you have a 06 C230 than you dont have a Kompressor

They stopped making the kompressor after 05 and replaced it with the 2.5l V6 M272 engine.

lol we can let him do it but I dunno if he's popped his hood yet to see what his engine looks like. Wonder if he noticed the V6 emblem on the cover

If he tries it I think he'll try and remove his MAF. Just trying to stop the $$$ repair.

I've heard one with the silencer removed and it sounds real good.

I fixed that a while ago via my Blackberry, Guess it didn't take and I never really paid attention after that.
