nevide.. you can convert the speedometer display to metric as well.. im surprised though.. i thought by toggling Metric to display Celcius, the digital speed readout would go to km simultaneously?

hmm... I'm pretty sure it doesn't. On my coupe anyway which should be the same with the sedan. When you go to the settings menu, it will prompt you to choose the temp display and the speed display seperately so you can choose to display the speed in metrics and temp in imperial, speed in imperial and temp in metrics, and any other combination. Did you know that you can also turn off the auto lock so your car won't lock everytime you drive away? Try it.

Fastest I went in my C-coupe was tagging a Hyundai going down the I-5 last month to visit my friends at UCSD during spring break. I peaked out around 100-105 or so, but I only took a pic while going 95. I'll post it later if this thread is still alive.

I took that 270km/h pic myself

j/k, i'm not that dumb.

Why do the US E55's max out at 260km/h, but the euro E55 I drove maxed out at 280km/h?

LOL, I'll have a heck of a time finding one around southern California, but I'll certainly try... or at least convince myself it's an open highway...

I don't have any high speed pics, but within an hour of picking the car up in Sindelfingen I found my 6 speed C-Coupe's govenor at 130 MPH / 210 KM/Hr.

9:54 PM in Sweden (May 27, 2002) an it's still light out!

Great gas mileage after driving through Sweden and Denmark (low speed limits)

i like to use degrees C instead of F because i can adjust the temperature of the AC faster in C...... how fast have you pushed your car to? i think 138 MPH is my max..... stopped going that high after i got pulled over a couple times.... now i drive like a grandpa at 80-90.

There's too many cops that has nothing to do here in Iowa so driving even 80 is not possible in the interstates. I only pushed until 125 mph cuz it scares the hell out of me. I'll push harder next time.

Since I haven't been in the USA for too long I was wondering if anyone knows why truckers seem so upset as others traveling at speeds above the speedlimit? I was driving to Utah from Colorado and I was bouncing of the limiter quiet often, even on sections that where straight for miles and miles and next to no traffic, pretty much each trucker would flash his lights as I passed them I didn't do anything that would upset them besides speeding...just wondering since I've never had that problem in Germany.

Well actually most parts of the autobahn have speed limits, most of the time 120km/h (~75mph). Now do people adhere to those speeds, not usually, From experience I would say the most common speed on the autobahn is around 140-150km/h (85-95 mph). I guess I'll never understand why the truckers here are as they are If I had done something stupid then I would understand a reaction...

Some truckers (at least in Texas) flash their lights to warn you about police activity around the road you are traveling.
More than a couple of times I've been saved by those flashing truckers, I slow down and sure enough there was a cop 2 or 3 miles after.

Some other are just plain jealous they can't speed as much as you do.

I have a better idea. How about if we all ride in a fully armored car with anti puncture all season tires and a speed limiter of 35 mph, bullet proof doors and windshields, anti stall engine, than we'll be perfectly save.

Exactly. Pay attention to the flashing lights...its happened to me a few times. And pass the favor along, when you go past a cop, give em a flash going the other way

I've realized lately that NO ONE flashes their lights to warn you anymore, at least not around here. So I've stopped returning the favor as well. I think I've seen some one flash their lights at me once in like two years. It's getting pretty bad how people just don't give a damn about anyone else anymore, especially on the road.

I don't want to be crippled, but I would rather die early than live the rest of my life being bored.
