Speed shots

OK, I wouldn't recommend doing this on some crowded highway or interstate.

I normally wouldn't think it's that big of a deal going 103 or even 122 for that matter... but taking a pic of your speedometer at those speeds... :o Hehe, hopefully someone else took those shots for you.

Well, first of all, I forgot to mention that I took the shot at badlands national park , SD at hwy 44 and there's no other person or car (just plenty prairie dogs) when I was visiting mount rushmore with my GF and that's my GF taking the shots. I wouldn't dare taking that kind of picture while speeding that fast.

About the celcius thingy, I'm not from the US (from asia) so I'm more comfortable with celcius temprature rather than farenheit (mind me if I spell it wrong) but can't set the speed at kmh or I'll always be over the speed limit. Btw, the needle in the C class is too hard to read IMO.

location

anyway, this is where I did it.... Just to avoid any lectures about not to speed on a local freeway. You can see that the pic is taken from the passanger side and it's a loooonnnnggggggg road that seems to have no end and it was very smooth for almost 12 miles. If you still don't believe me, check any atlas for hw 44 near badlands national park and you'll see that it's very remote and straight. Wouldn't dare to do it on a crowded interstate.

Well, if I have an SL55 and no speed limiter, I'd be going more than that maybe.... but, my coupe won't pull any harder above 125. Acceleration drops severely above 115.

Actually how did you change your speedometer to mph? Us guys in the SL forum are having a little trouble with the cars in UK.

I think you can change the speedo from mph to kmh right? I'm sure you can change the speedo from kmh to mph in UK too especially in an SL. It's all in the setting menu on the HUD or whatever you call the center screen is.

Hey... How dare you laugh at my sweet little town. Anyway.. Ames, Iowa is the town where I go to school at iowa state university. Call me stupid but this little town has the best chinese food in the midwest I dare to say and they're cheap also. Anyway, I'm originally from Indonesia the country of terror as CNN and that god damned Bush always says (hyperbole). No offense but I hate Bush. Back to the topic.

ACtually what the problem was something like, the manual was lying and the dealers were confused so that's why there was a huge debate and scandal going on. :p

Its the auto trans. My 6 speed pulls hard right till 130- then the car makes it to 132 or 133 before it slows.

makes sense since the auto only has 5 speeds.

Could be the 1.8L engine also, although I would think it has enough HP to get you to the same top speed.

could also be me... I was trembling pretty good since it was my first time and probably forgot to floor the gas pedal. At any rate, the car was very very smooth and strong on the road.
