The WRX does 0-100 MPH in about 15.5 seconds. The C230k Does 0-100 mph in about 20 seconds (Guess?). It wouldn't even be a race.

Stock vs. Stock forget it...Get a pulley & 100HP Shot of Nitrous, with Sticky tires at the track you can kick his A$$. I would personally go with 150hp Shot of Nitro.

The WRX is a cool car but you have to consider ALL factors here, and style still means something, to me at least.

Hmmm, seems like there's always going to be something faster. Our C230K's slow as hell, but I'm learning to just kick back and enjoy the ride. We have to go the speed limit most of the time, and I'd rather do it in a Benz.

Also don't forget the WRX is 4wd. This means you can rev it up to 3 grand and drop the clutch and 4 tires are doing the work of 2 on your C230. Very little tire slip no matter what you do so the power is working for you from the start. That's how they can do 5 1/2 second 0-60's, not because of 227 HP. Now get one from a running start and it's another story but remember, 300HP is only about $1,500 away.

I would venture and say that no WRX buyer ever seriously considered a MB...
I love to drive the WRX but as an ownerhsip proposition it is not all that attractive to me... rock hard sports seat, lack of leather and other luxury amenities, **** poor dealer network etc is enough for me to buy let say an Audi Quattro instead of WRX.
But that being said... those little plugggers really fun to drive. My friend has a WRX that he paid $21k for... pretty damn affordable fun to drive car.

i dont think there is comparison when it comes to MB vs other vehichles.
if your looking for luxury, no other car can bring it to you, not bmw not audi, etc

You mentioned the "**** poor dealer network", I was taking a close-up look at the little soobies and, I gotta agree. But I thought it was only the local Subaru dealer in San Jose. Very very tacky. (Probably the worst looking dealership I have ever seen). Is this more widespread?
But it would surely be a hoot to have access to the car!

Actually I was very close to getting a WRX, had it picked out, finished negotiations and was going home to get a check when I stopped at the MB dealer for one last look. So to me they are very similar, both $25K. Yes, the free car washes, MB loaners and proximity of the dealer where the deal makers.

I'd want a WRX, but not if it's my only car. Pretty good deal, $34k CDN. Can't even buy a BMW 320i for that price! However, like as the others said, there's hardly any Subaru dealers around. I gotta drive like 20 minutes on the open highway to get to one or get in a traffic jam for 30 minutes to get to another one in the city.

Not that I really care, but, well, a MB isn't exacty very noticeable. I drove to the supermarket today to buy some ice-cream and 1 out of 10 cars were a Mercedes. Usually E, ML or S-class too. All driven by old women

That would clearly be the difference between living in a major metro area (Toronto) and a small town like mine (Battle Creek)! I thought it was just my ego speaking, but my 15-year-old son mentioned the other day "Dad, do you notice how many people look at your car when we drive by?" There just aren't that many here where I live, and that's O-TAY with me!
Best wishes.
