Okay i think i got everything down except the jumper connectors part. Do i need to mess with wiring if I just wanted to change to the clear lens cover part or is that a whole unit? what does jumper connectors look like?

I posted full insturctions on csportcoupe, but here's the wiring part. There may be an easier way to do it, but I found using the extra wire was the only way to get the length I needed to do it by myself.

And yes, it's the whole assembly-it's a sealed component.

Majority of insturctions...

Wiring - Take the new blinker assemblies, and pop the 4-pin connector away from the clip that holds it to the case. There will be two wires coming from the mirror to the 4-pin. Clip these as close to the connector as possible. This will also remove the spare bulb. Next, clip the spare bulb and the 4-pin connector from the wires connecting them and set the wires aside-you will need them in a minute. Back to the car. On the front side of the mirror is the original 2-pin connector. Pop this off its mount so you have more slack in the wires. Clip the wires at the base of the connector.

Obviously, all wires need to be stripped now before assembly.

Taking the new blinker, attach the extra wires clipped from between the bulb/pin to the wires coming from the blinker assembly using the crimp tubes. This extra 4"-5" will aid in final assembly. Once you have extended these wires and crimped them tightly, attach the blinker assembly back to the shell with the two screws. You may have to play with it a little bit, as the black foam is a little thicker than the white foam on the stock units, but it will fit. Back to the car!

Final Assembly -Turn your blinker on-you will get an error message. Slide the mirror case 1/2 way over the mirror assembly, leading the wires from the blinker assembly out the bottom of the shell. With the extra length of wires we attached earlier, you should have plenty of room to crimp them to the leads coming from the mirror assembly. If it doesn't work the first time, just switch them. You can turn the blinker off now if it's working. It's now time to slide the case back on the mirror assembly. This will take some playing to get all the new wires stuffed, but there is some room toward the front/bottom of the case for the wires & connectors. Push the shell back on until it clicks. Then check it by pulling straight out-you may have to give it a pop to get it to latch.

Argh, it gets so frustrating. Changing color of lights is supposed to be one of the more "harmless" mods, but it seems that it's probably the most difficult mod too. Right now I have clear bulbs in my mirror blinkers, but they're the wrong wattage right now, so they barely light up, but no more yellow in the light.

LEDs definitely make for a cleaner appearance, but those in the mirror and the instrument cluster are near impossible to change. So much for trying to make white-colored turn signals and instrument cluster... those 6 contact points on each bulb really confuse me as to what is to be used as a replacement. Sorry for the rant...
Don't forget - if you get in an accident, you will almost certainly become liable as a direct consequence of using non-amber turn signals, especially if your vis-a-vis has a good lawyer.

Actually, I'm seriously considering changing to amber LEDs for the headlight turn signals if I pick up these clear blinkers, so they'll match each other.

On a side note, does anybody know where to obtain white LEDs that match the rear bulbs (22W I think)? I want to convert to LEDs, but the taillight assembly uses colored lenses over white bulbs, and I've only found red LEDs for it.

[EDIT]

I think I found a very interesting site: http://www.superbrightleds.com/led_prods.htm
Let me know if you guys find any others like this.
Oh, and does anybody know how to equalize the load WITHOUT spending $20?

[/EDIT]

Are you talking about the side mirror blinkers or the side marker?

This thread is about the side marker, not the side mirror blinkers.

Good question, now that read his original question I'm not sure? The thread was for mirror blinkers, thats why I listed those numbers.

Actually, that's my fault. I saw clear and blinkers and initially thought the thread was about sidemarkers.

Don't mind me folks. Just a moderator that is going crazy...LOL.

The part numbers for the side mirror blinkers are correct. That is for the updated 2005+ models, not for the w211 style blinkers.

As long as you mean the ones on the mirrors, the number I listed should be good. Like another member said OEM parts is a good source.
