NewtoN13's UPDATES v.AzN Optics LED's, Plasti DIP

Hey guys, its been a while since ive really posted any updates.. or even done anything to my car.. well. since recently.. I did a few things..

One of the first things I did.. Rolled my fenders! Ever since I slapped on my wheels quite a few months back.. ive been having major rubbing issues. I even got new tires.. Still had rubbing issues. I would not even be able to seat more than 2 people in my car.. and even still, if im by myself I would scrape on certain dips/bumps. So I went to TWS (The Wheel Supply) in Walnut since im local and they took care of the fenders for me.. so my rubbing issues are GONE. Im able to have my car full and not scrape. I was so happy after that was done.

Next I did was I wanted to switch up the colors on my wheels. Dont get me wrong.. I love how the wheels looked.. I just wanted to switch it up a bit. I was thinking of going flat black as I kind of wanted to black out my car. I did some research on that stuff "PlastiDip" which is like spray paint but can be pealed off when it drys up. So I pulled the trigger on that stuff and did about 4 coats in total on each wheel. I left the lip polished to get that matte black center with a polished lip.

While I did my wheels, I also debadged my car and sprayed my mercedes logo..came out pretty sexy! I still have to get the outline of the mercedes off.. its still showing!!

Next I wanted to get some LED's for my license plate lights.. I was refered to AzN Optics.. Sent in my 20 bucks, and literally 2 days later.. I recieved the LED's in the mail. Followed the simple instructions and boom! These lights are Sexy!

Sorry for the huge read.. Here are the pictures! Please let me know what you think! Thanks guys!! Oh and yes I know my car is very dirty!

Here is a pix of my car previously!

Here are pictures of the Plasti Dipped Wheels.. In progression..
This is just the first coat..

After about 3-4 coats.. I pealed off the lip.. This is the finished product

All 4 done! Took quite a while!

Here is the finished product!!!

Sorry for the quality of the pictures! I just used my iphone camera!

Here is the debadged logo's

Logo

Now for the AzN Optics LED's
I ordered the 36mm lights..20 bucks for (2) bulbs.. Great service and very fast shipping!

Here is what stock looks like..

This is what the LED's look like vs the stock bulb..

right side is the LED vs the stock bulb..

and the finished product! They are very bright and the picture does no justice!

Once again guys & gals! Thanks for viewing.. Please let me know what you guys think about the wheels and what not.. Not sure if I want to get matte black wheels.. I just did the cheap plasti dip ($5 bucks a can, 4 cans used) to get a feeler..

Oh and dont mind my messy garage!!!

Thanks,

NewtoN13

I actually liked the finish of the wheels without the plasti-dip, but you still did a good job with em. Looks good both ways but I'm a fan of it without the plasti-dip just because the finish is ony of my favorite colors for wheels... even though my wheels are matte black too haha

loved the Original color of the rims too. why did you use plasti-dip and where did you buy it? I think the reason i like the original color more is because it creates a contrast between the color of the rims and the color of the car.

beautiful car regardless.

Yea. Also I think you should leave the Mercedes emblem chrome, just so there's something on the back to match the lip of your wheels. Just my two cents though, lol my emblem is plasti dipped too.

I liked the original color on your wheels, but its cool to see something a little different. Everyone on the VW forums LOVE plastidip! Glad to see it make its way over here - cuz if you dont like it, you can just peel it off! Lookin good as usual

Hey guys! So since I plasti-dipped my wheels.. My FAN DIED ON ME!! Ahh it took a few days for the fan to come in... while they installed them and I had them do a service A on the car.. Just got the car washed today and oh yeah... I took off the plastidip.. I also took off the plastidip on the rear emblem.. just cause it pops well with the wheels.. Here are some updated pix.. I like the red BBS center caps over the black bare centers. Maybe if it was black with BBS in silver/chrome it'd go great with the flow of the car. But car is looking sharp

I say keep the center caps red, it matches your tail lights and makes the whole car just flow
