Check Engine light ! NOO
Hello everyone,
2004 c230 K sPorts sedan
So last night I change out the spark plugs and my brake pads.
The next morning I recieved an annoying Check Engine light.
The codes are
p0128
p0456
p2119
For p0128, that was an easy code to fix. It was just the thermostat or temp sensor that was messed up. I had recently fixed that earlier this year myself by changing out the stuck thermostat. I'm guessing it is stuck again?
p2119 has something to do with the idle controlly. Something seems to has gone wrong. Couple of months of ago I had to replace my belt tensioner pulley myself. It was a ***** work. I had to disconnect the automated idle control system. After I did, I notice some rough idling. Does anyone knows how to fix this problem?
p0456 - leak in the fuel somewhere? help? gas cap?
I mainly need help on the p2119 code if anyone could help me?
Dont know the reason why the check engine light came on like that after doing some simple maintence. Weird....

This was just last night? I had that gas cap warning light... If you refill to the top it should go away next time.?
when u took out the pulleys.. especially the tensioner, did you have to remove the s/c?
Btw... i had the weirdest thing happen.. my gas gauge stopped working... apparently putting 10$ or 20 at a time isn't good lol. But everytime i filled up it went awa... weird huh

I would reset the codes and wait to see which ones come back. The P0456 is often a bad gas cap or worse the bad filler neck. Its just an annoying code, so if you don't need to clear it to pass emissions testing, then I wouldn't worry about it.

yes sir, you have to remove the supercharger to get to the tensioner. It is a pain in the rear... a small power air rachet HELPS! with this job.
yes, i did use the correct spark plugs. same iridium spark plugs that always been in there.
Yea i think i cleared the gas code already ,sorry to hear that your gas needle doesn't work, if you look on ebay, they do have people on their selling their dash for like $70 bucks. it is simple to change the gauges out too. i'm going to call a guy about the LED screen that is faded tommorrow to get a pricing on it. I heard it is simple to change out for those with w203 who have major problems on it.
The main problem is that idle control issue. I'm confused how to fix it.

i'm just a n00b.. i was looking at my rpm neede lol.. i'm like 200 wtf is low for idle... i wasn't couting per 200 to 1000 rpm line.. so hence it idles at 600-800 lol. problem solved

MBWorld Fanatic!
Sometimes after service, the dreaded casual gas cap, or inactivity the ECU and so on have to relearn or adjust to the new engine parameters. That will often cause the CEL to extinguish. This maybe the answer to the mystery.
