What do you like about your W203?
We recently had a thread where we listed the things we didn't like about our cars so I started wondering if anybody had asked what we like about them. I did a quick search and didn't see anything so now I'm askin-
What do you like about your W203?
I'll start:
1. I think it is one of the more hansom cars on the road.
2. Mine is Diamond Black Metallic and I've really come to love that color (though it is a ***** to keep shiny and clean. I normally prefer white which is only a little bit better.).
3. I like the auto head lights (wish they were always on).
4. The 1.8L Kompressor motor seems to pull pretty well (6k redline seems low for a modern twin cam motor, though).
5. For a car this size, it gets great gas mileage (32 mpg on trips)!
6. It handles pretty well.
7. The pleather seats look pretty good, are durable, and aren't as hot as the old vinyl seats.
8. I love the sun roof and the cover.
9. I like the rear window shade (though I usually use it to help keep the interior cooler when parked at work).
10. I like the push to fully open and push to fully close the windows (my sun room requires me to keep pushing the button, though).
11. I like the auto A/C (it blasts you out when it comes on on a hot day!)
12. I like my CDC (I'm a little old fashioned like that!).
13. I like the tray under the car. It keeps the engine compartment clean.
Maybe that will get things started.

ncmudbug you can have you lights on all the time it is a setting in the IC headlights constant. I have my bix on all the time love it
As for what I like about my car ...
EVERYTHING
I cant really think of anything I don't like
I love my exterior color and interior color
I love my new wheels
I love my nav 2.0 that does not do nav but is my aux in lol
I love my reliability as most of you know I have what seems to be the only reliable 01 on this planet. 165,600 miles when i parked tonight with basic maintenance. The only issues is my AC blew freon out but it still works so i am going with it.
I love the look
I love the options (rear shade, nav, bix, heated seats and headlight cleaners, cd changer, rain sensor, charcoal filters (rare in the w203 only was around for 01-03), Bose stereo and so on.
Honestly the only thing I don't like is my bumper misaligned and bent radiator from my little accident a few years back that was never fixed right and my cracked fog light
I plan to keep my w203 forever and just buy another car to drive daily and keep the w203 for people hauling.
Hell I have even thought about buying either an 05 c320 sport 6 speed (Very Very Rare) or a c55 as my next car.

I agree with your original list and would add:
1. trip computer/info center
2. Utility (I have a coupe)
3. Cooled center storage area
4. Auto wipers
5. And last but not least, mine has been very reliably. 140,000 miles with no real problems.
I have to also agree that the 1.8 pulls well, and cruises nicely on the highway. I get about 32mpg on highway trips. Redline is low at 6,000rpm but the torque from the motor is good.

Styling
BiX
Parktronic
Full leather & laurel interior
6 Cyl engine smoothness & great auto
Mini limo feel & solidity
Total reliability
Just how well the design has aged
All the nice little (many hidden) extras that early cars had - eg 4 brake wear sensors, oil level sensing etc etc.

Out Of Control!!
Scroll through your menu to "Settings", then pick "lighting" then toggle "Constant" on. It's pretty simple when you know where to look. It's a great feature; you never have to worry about your light switch again.
By the way, it doesn't turn on interior lights or brake lights until the sensor tells it to, in case you were wondering.

The headlights = constant feature is so lame on these cars. DRL should be high-beams, running at reduced wattage. Anyway.. this is a LIKE thread..
- The looks. The facelift, sport packaged cars look stunning.
- The brakes. Great feel & performance. Also look great.
- The gas mileage on trips, always in the 30s.
- The ESP slip logic.. much better than other cars I've driven.
- The feeling of security and sure-footedness, the Germanic feel.
- That is has covered 116,000 miles and asked very little of me.
But to be completely honest.. the thing I like most about my W203 today, after 3 years and 91,000 miles with it, is something that I could say about any other car I might have bought that July day of 2008. It's filled to the brim with memories. I took an extended break from work from March 2009 to June 2011, and me and my C230K burned up the roads. It's been everywhere with me and all of the most important people in my life, sometimes several all piled in together. It's been the free taxi to prevent DUIs, a rescue vehicle for the broken down, a quiet place for private chats, the seats have been slept in, the AMG front bumper has functioned unintentionally as a snow plow in a freak GA snowstorm, it has been in muddy fields on rainy mornings for soccer games, in funeral processions, participated in a tribute ride with 100+ JDM rides for a local teen killed in a wreck, its been borrowed by some and driven by all..
I think I might have just talked myself out of getting rid of it.

As for my likes, I agree 100% with all the good things that have been stated above, but my all time favorite thing about it is the reaction when I pull off from a stop.....anywhere....
that thing is a MANUAL?!?! (Drool). On several occasions ive pulled off a light just to have someone run up beside me and ask if it was the manual was stock hehe
oh yea and the fact that it looks like sex on for wheels is damn nice also

I forgot some:
14. It is so solid feeling. Closing the door sounds and feels like I'm closing a vault.
15. Very smooth driving - especially the '06 C230 my wife has.
16. As Glyn says, the auto is very smooth.
17. I also second what Glyn said about the nice detail features.
18. Cloth covers parts of the interior that lesser cars cover in plastic.

If your car is an 05, with memory seats, and you have the Mirror Park Aid function enabled the mirror will tilt down in reverse to show you the curb.
And if your 05 is like mine, it will only return to normal position sometimes. I've had to disable the feature. No amount of synching or anything makes it work for very long before it starts tilting in reverse and then sticking in the down position.

I really like the AMG body style for the c230K Sport. It really flows well with the shape of the car, plus with a rear trunk spoiler, it screams SPORT!!! The gap btwn tire and fender is minor, and the ergonomics inside is on cue!!!

I realy like the the style the w203's. In the right trim there is something very elegent about them. I love that my car feels so solid and handles remarkably well for a car of its weight.
