Xeon headlight retrofit C230K Coupe
Does anyone know if it's possible to retrofit the OEM Xeon lighting system back into a 2002 c230 Coupe? Besides the 6 disc chnager, Xeon is the only option I truely wish for my c230.

Not sure if you're aware, but you can get H7 bulb D2S HID's for around $300 and they work really well in the standard housings. The merc's must use a freeform reflector because even without a projector the pattern was really tight.

Thanx for the tip Peet... but I am enamored with the auto levelling Xeons available in the 03-04 coupes. I am almost tempted to trade in my 02 c230 just to get a new one with the Xeon's installed... but I can't live with trading my 2.3L for the 1.8L!!!

You can install the 2003 bi-xenon headlights in the 2002 coupe, but you won't be able to have auto-leveling. It is not practical or economical to rewire the car and install the mechanical pieces for the auto-leveling system.

I asked my uncle if I could get oem HID from other C Class for my coupe last year and he said no because of some terms of agreement or whatever it is. Few months ago when the projectors came out I asked those dealer people if I could get one for my car and they said no and they aren't allowed to do anything to my car that's not factory option.
God...I really don't know what those MB people thinking in their mind, they should be happy that people are willing to spent money on extra stuff that they didn't or can't get when they bought their cars.
Anyways, I believe that the auto leveling would not work even if you got a pair of oem lights.

There are plenty of old posts on this, but it is possible to install botht he bi xenon lights form the 03 model on the 02 (they are just real expensive) and it is possible to install the auto leveling, though also real expensive for very little gain. The headlight install is def. a do it yourself job though you have to get a dealer to change over a computer setting via the STAR to get the to work right, as far as the auto leveling stuff goes, I think you can do it yourself, but it requries getting under your car etc. There is a bunch of informatoin in old posts on this forum if you search and there is even a member that sells the lights at a marginal discount, MBenzNL.
