my mechanic told me today that the cause of this strange noise is the OIL CATCH TANK! i still cant believe it, gonna replace it tomorrow and see if its truly this! we checked the timing chain area and everything seems pretty alright...

Well remove the catch tank & see if the noise goes. Easily checked.

it doesnt sound clearly when i record it i can specify the area that the sound is comin from! its heard like something is loose and it trembles, rrrrrrrrr like a whistle. i can hear it from the right side of the engine and today i reconsider if its coming from the back area of the engine! the strange is that when i disconnect the s/c it isnt so loud!

visited another mechanic today. he insisted that the noise comes from the timing chain case! when the s/c's belt if off the noise goes out about 80% so what has the timing chain area to do with the s/c ?

With the load of the auxilliarys on the engine it could be enough to take the slack out of the timing chain & make it run on the loaded surfaces on the chain & sprockets to make it sound quieter. In other words it could stop it flopping around & making a noise.

I would put a new aux belt on first before doing anything else.

I put a new belt on & it quietened my noise immediately.

You are always going to have some cam chain/sprocket noise.

I cannot download your sound clip.

That sounds typical timing chain or cam adjuster to me.

Header/exhaust manifold leaks have a loud pfft, pfft, noise of gas escaping when the exhaust valve opens for that cylinder.

My mechanic, when in trouble to find out the origin of mysterious noises, is using a doctor's stethoscope, with a plain steel stick at the end, instead of the usual little round diaphragm!!!

Tappets ? .More than one .

Take your oil filler cap off to see whether the noise increases . Watch for oil splatter.

I would consider removing valve cover & checking wear & clearances.

You might have multiple damaged hydraulic lifters?

All 3 are timing chain tensioners by definition.
