to date:
paid $220 for a new key, after the service advisor told me that STAR was not capable of diagnosing whether my startup problem is the EIS or the key. was told that buying a new key would be the best thing to try at first.
today:
i call MB and talk to the manager. he says STAR is capable of diagnosis. i tell him i was not told that, and i would rather have spent the $200 on diagnosis and made subsequent repairs that were correct, rather than bought the useless key. i tell him i would like a free diagnosis and then from there, i will get the repairs done, depending on what diagnosis he gives me. he says he cant do that.
i am about to go there and knock out the service advisor, then drive my car into a lake, and go buy a honda.
