Unhappy Arrrgh! Look what I did to my nice Mercedes wheels

I did a u'turn... as Maxwell Smart would say,
'missed it by THIS much'

I misjudged the curb by literally a few centimetres and scraped my front mag wheel.

The photo does show it, it did take quite a big chunk out :-(

I'm usually such a good driver... I haven't had a ding or accident is so so many years.

A good mag repair shop can make them look like new & re powder coat after repair.

+1

This is the perfect excuse to refinish or even re-paint your rims. If youre good with paint, you can even DIY it.

This link is a pretty complete DIY for sprucing up your wheels.

Yep, these rims are fantastic looking but are really prone to curb rash.

Be glad that you don't have chrome wheels.

+1 yup.. it's bound to happen.

The only way it will not happen is, either you don't drive it out to the streets or you always park in a garage at all times.

Curb rash happens. Have you seen some of the front lower lip rashes.. wait till you meet those. Especially the day when you drove a little too fast and next thing you know, you hit a little dip and a *crunch*, you should get a viedo of yourself squirmming.. Cuz I seen and hear those all the times. ahaha

Thanks for the comments and suggestion. At some stage, I'll have to get a quote on rim repairs. If I do get them repaired, I'll leave them in the style as they are. Yep, I'm an OEM kind of person.

Although, I am considering leaving it. I'm trying to justify, to my wife, the purchase of yet another Omega wristwatch which I found locally. The fact its being sold below its market value doesn't really interest my wife for some reason .
Yeh, I'm a WIS, as I posted a few months ago.

I actually pride myself on the ability to street park (all the other scratches were from previous owner). This didn't happen via parking, but a U-turn :-( I misjuged my turning circle literally by millimetres. Had I gone any wider, the rubber would have hit the curb, any narrower, and I would have not misjudged.

Okay. Let me reprhase. It's called accidents. The only way to prevent those is to leave it in your garage and not drive it at all. But then again those are prone to accidents too. Well, bottom line is don't get crazy over little things, what bound to happen will happen, just like murphys law.

Hmmmz, I believe that is what insurance is for, to cover mishaps and accidents.
