How to mount EURO plate on US frame?
How do you guys mount your EURO plate on a US license plate frame?
Do you use a bracket or just drill new holes in the frame that is mounted in the trunk?

Should use the search function for this. It has been addressed.
But to save you time:
You will need a different trunk insert.
If you look carefully, you will notice that the usdm trunks simply dont allow a euro plate to fit.
To buy the insert, contact mbenznl
To see the difference of rear ends, look at frankw's car

My bad! Sorry.
Yeah but in Belgium we just started this year with using the normal EURO size. We have smaller plates then euro size.

And i already have a OEM US plate frame.

Question is, why would you want to install a euro plate in the US? ![Confused](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
I doubt you can get pretty far before getting pulled over with a confused officer. Don't think you want to mess with the authories or you want to deal with their paper works and going to court. It's bad enough to even get pulled for a missing front plate here in the states or heck even with an expired sticker in the rear plate. These guys are out there trying to write citations, so why give them the opportunity. Remember, US is not doing too good financially, so they need the money and if you are in the mood to donate, then it's really up to you.
As for those who wants to put a US plate over the euro plate, I don't understand that idea either. Just too messy in terms of look. If the car is in the US or which ever country they are, why not just stick with their rules and use what is required in that country.

With all do respect. Then where is he??
Also, why would you import a US car to european countries, when there are plenty of those or correct me if I am wrong, the c230 came from the European country??
Besides the point, I would still question if there are, any US owners trying to put a european plate here in the states. I seen cars wth what I describe around and can't seem to understand it.

I believe the OP is in Belgium.
Apologies for assuming you were in the US as most other users of this board![slap](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/slap.gif)
Sure made an *** out of U (04mbc230) and ME.
I believe all you need is a bracket that mounts to the original holes, and supports the new longer plates' holes.
I believe there must be an application available locally to you if your government has decided to make such a big change.
I actually wouldn't mind, albeit a spare $400, putting on a EuroPlate behind my US Plate.
It's a mod. FrankW has does this tastefully (to each his own).
No one really understands why people mod cars in ways that they do; it still happens, but that is the paradigm of modifications.

Do the European roll out US frames over there?
That is where my assumption that he is in the US or has a US Mercedes.
I am confuse.![crazy](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/crazy.gif)

I did it because i think the US trunk plate insert looks like crap with that obvious plastic sticking out where the Euro insert would be.
as for the OP's question I'm pretty sure he has a European plate insert on the trunk already. all he needs is one of these http://www.customeuropeanplates.com/frames-c-2.html

As you can tell from my sentence "Yeah but in Belgium we just started ..." i am from Belgium.
I have a US trunk insert for my EURO benz because our old Belgian plates are smaller then normal euro size. So i have a big gap i don't like on the left and right of my plate. I think it is much cleaner with a US trunk insert.
This is with EURO plateholder![](http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/2744/imgp3434800x531.jpg)
This is with US plateholder (sorry lepez for steeling your picture.![](https://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/313350_10150303506639381_560264380_7562911_404451588_n.jpg)
Since there isn't a simple bracket i can order i will try to make something myself. I first tried to ask you guys for a easy way with a bracket. So my plan B is the hard way and make one myself :-p
