What year is the car? Sounds to me like someone has reprogrammed it. The interval is 13000 miles most likely. Not sure why some people insist on wasting money/time/resources changing it more often. You can get someone with SDS to move the interval back up, or you can reset it at 5000 and change it when it comes up again.

The proper interval is 13,000. Someone must have adjusted the interval down the STAR because they knew better than Mercedes who designed and engineered it (sarcasm).
You can't fix it without access to that computer.

my c230 was at the dealership, and I mentioned it to my SA. He said he will look into it and reset it, but when they dropped the car off just now it couldn't be done, techs tried it dozen times and couldn't figure it out the drive said. What is going on? I need to talk to SA tomorrow but anyone have this issue? I remembering seeing a post saying computer calculates interval mileage depending on cold starts, and other factors... has anyone heard anything like this???

No the 2005 W203 just has a mileage counter.. it does not monitor oil quality based on any conditions. The techs couldn't do it probably because they are not as familiar with STAR as you'd think.. they often are confused by this stuff.

The techs couldn't reset it because their STAR systems don't have developer mode enabled. The only way to change it, is find someone with a Developer STAR system. Even then, you need to have an older version of DAS. Newer versions phased out that setting.
