Exclamation C7 / other parts for sale / donation

Here's what's happening: tomorrow's the day that my leather's finally getting in. Yesterday, I ordered Brabus door pins and pedals (on the 4-piece manny set, the fourth is for the parking brake, not the dead pedal, so the search continues). My Renntech shift knob will be in shortly.

So, I'll have some parts to get rid of in the next week or so. Does anyone want me to try to save any of the cloth, the headrests, for example? The other parts will be: C7 pedal set, shift knob (no, not the boot), door lock pins (don't know why anyone would need them, but otherwise, they're going in the trash).
In addition, I have a MB black license plate frame that won't work with both my alumni license plate and the little handle, so that's up for grabs as well.

Highest bidder gets 'em, but I'd ask that whatever I'm given would at least pay for the shipping; I'm nice, but not an idiot.

Also, the Brabus catalog was finally in - their steering wheel looks great. It's much thicker than the C7 one, with nice perforated leather. So, I might be getting one of them fairly soon. Which means that those of you who hate the new oyster interior might be able to switch at less than oem prices.

Any questions/responses can be posted here. Thanks!

Sheesh! No one? Well, if no one else is gonna speak, up... I'll but them from you as spares, Tommy! It would be nice to have a spare shift knob and pedal pads, since they seem to wear fast and I'm a high mileage driver...
heheh
You're very generous, Tommy!

Tommy,

I'll talk to you about the steering wheel AFTER you get the replacement installed. I'd hate to think you'd join the ranks of those other drivers on the Parkway who seem to have ordered their cars without that option....

Let me clarify my generosity:
I'd prefer to send this sh*t to someone who either didn't order the C7, wants the darker color, or has damaged theirs in some way. If I want to give this stuff to someone as a back-up for what they already have, that person will be me.

Rick, are those the same people on the Parkway who lost use of their turn signals as well?

<shrug> and I was gonna pay ya for it

That's ok Tommy, The only feature I really wanted from the C7 was the steering wheel, just because it looked more comfortable than the standard. C7 wasn't available when I ordered my car, but I still didn't think the wheels were the best they could offer.

Next time I'm up in the area, I'll let you know....maybe lunch at Hooter's is in order.

I want the Steering Wheel even though I have C7. I just don't like the new Oyster colored wheel. The S.wheel and airbag new costs around $1700. My dealer has offered to let me buy them at their cost of around $1000 (still too steep). As long as we don't get into a bidding war, I would buy your used one to save some bucks and get my color changed. Meanwhile, I am composing a letter to MBUSA to appeal the color change and see if are willing to do something to help me make the change happen. I will let you know the results of that letter, but I am not holding my breath.

Unhappy Damn!

You can get the Brabus wheels for either $850 or $950 (ash or charcoal - don't know what's really different between them). You might want to give them some serious thought - they have the same general form as the C7 wheel, but thicker and more manly-looking (is that sexist?).

My personal preference is to keep the car looking stock, or as stock as possible. Plus I want to keep the controls. As far as aftermarket goes, I would only consider the AMG 4 spoke that Autoclass sells for $469, It is thick, has the raised thumbgrips and has perforated leather from 10 o'clock to 2. They say that price includes the airbag, but at that price I wondering what the catch is. Probably a $1000 adapter plate or something.
